Yangs body mechanics look really pleasing to me. Like 99th percentile for his size. Also liked how he showed out at the combine. Did a few things that looked like elite reads in the highlight reels (back door pass, the block in recovery on his man). I’d be stoked if we draft Yang. Glad we had him in for a workout. Utah needs an HMart tho (I know it’s Korean but place slaps).

The Liam McNeeley vs Will Riley comparison is pretty interesting to me. I think McNeeley is the safer pick because I do believe he will be able to shoot. He also has a more NBA ready body. I think Riley is the more exciting pick, because I believe in his ability to playmake some more. McNeeley was asked to do too much on ball for UCONN, and potentially Riley could have handled more than he was allowed to at Illinois.
FWIW, on the game theory podcast whenever they talk about Riley they talk about him as a guy who will help his second team more than his first. Or in other words he will be good eventually, but it will take him some time.

I would be excited with Yang, Sorber or Berringer at #21.
I know there is some ignorance on my part here, but I'm used to seeing Chinese Basketball Association stats from former NBA players and feeling like they can't be real, and then I look at Yang's stats and they are great, but not like silly. For example he averaged 16.2pts, 10.0 reb, 2.8 ast while Kenny Lofton averaged 25.2pts, 12.6reb, 6.5 ast,
It looks like Taco Fall played in China for 10 games last year, he averaged 11.8pts, 6.4reb, 0.3ast, but only played 13 min/per game. If you look at his per 36 numbers they are pretty crazy: 29.9pts, 16.3reb, 0.8ast.

I was pretty skeptical of him at the start of this process, but I think he’s shown out as much as any other prospect I was looking at. I think he’s a legitimate 1st round guy and wouldn’t have a problem with him at #21. There’s a couple of other guys in that range that I think I like better, but I would be perfectly fine with drafting Yang there at this point.

Especially in an environment where his bully ball and downhill style is going to work well.
I think it's a legit question why a guy of Yang's size couldn't score/rebound more in that league as well though.
