Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I can tell you… the Fears stuff is either the weirdest and most convincing smokescreen or very very real. I think there is a very real chance it happens and not sure it’s even a trade down thing.

Why would it be weird? I know we aren’t fans of Fears here, but he’s also been mocked right where we are for a while.

Could be. No weakness could ever be attributed to Tre himself.
How’s he supposed to attack the hoop with any regularity if he’s the only shooter on the team. I get it detractors are more inclined to blame the player and supporters are going to blame the team constructing. Somewhere there should be a happy medium. I mean he does need to get stronger but bad team construction isn’t going to help him attack with the same consistency as someone on a good or even decent team. He does have the tools to do it though and he probably will do it more over time in the nba.

On one hand I think the Jazz will draft Ace and this is all an elaborate ruse, but Tony Jones seemed to think they wouldn't, and he's usually right

It just depends on how much of a special snowflake you think he is. Is he the only player that has had bad spacing in college? Was his team so bad that he should be near worst in class in terms of rim pressure? The answer to how he’s supposed to do it is talent and skill.

Almost every player does it less in the NBA because the NBA is more difficult. This idea that a player will drive more to the hoop in the NBA because of improved spacing doesn’t really exist. It’s an excuse we hear year after year. Of course there are exceptions, but the extreme trend is that rim pressure numbers go down. The NBA is a different game, and it’s more difficult to get rim and FT attempts. The players who can attack the rim in the NBA don’t have issues attacking the rim at a lower level.

Disagree? There’s still an open offer for someone to try to show that it’s actually a real thing. Fully open to changing my opinion.

Ace has been in front of our face this whole time, it wouldn’t surprise me. He is clearly the most obvious Ainge guy. But besides him, the intel guy has been Fears and it’s not new. I’m pretty sure he was the initial guy mocked to UTA. We can’t act like this is out of left field.

My point is he’s literally the only shooter or player the defense needs to worry and focus on. And couple that with the fact he’s an elite shot maker. That should be enough to deter him from doing that plus then you look at his place out. He does a lot in the mid post. But to your question, yes most players do it less because they don’t have the tools to do it Trey does he’s extremely skilled and a great score. He will do it more in the NBA in my opinion.

I will say he’s not a great finisher. He needs to get stronger. That’s definitely the wart of his game. But he can do it.

I do appreciate the Fears pick in that Fears is easily the most raw and high risk prospect in the lottery.

Cody being a total failure has seemingly not encouraged them to go to safety or for immediate impact.

Nobody thinks it’s out of left field. He has fans in the front office. My question to you would be is why would we be telling everyone we like him if he’s our target?

I'm really hoping Fears is the Wizards guy and the Jazz are just putting all this smoke out there in order to move down from 5 to 6 and collect a couple of second round picks or something from the Wiz and then they can take their guy (hopefully Tre) at 6.

I swear though, if we lost 65 games just to take a 6'2 point guard that can't shoot or play defense.....

99.99% sure it’s not a smoke screen. Not just that I’ve heard it from like 2-3 national sources and local sources but heard it from a reliable weird @bigmike style source that would have no purpose in pushing an agenda. Old man Ainge has a type…

Wouldn’t be the first time we knew about our target before the draft lol. I get what you’re saying, it’s smokescreen season. But we don’t call it weird when it’s reported we don’t like Ace. We wouldn’t call it weird if it was reported that we like Tre. I get that we don’t like Fears around here, but we’ve been resistant to acknowledge him as a possibility for so long when he’s clearly been an option the whole time.

I don’t even like Fears, but I’ve been caught in this position to make his case for
months because he’s been projected here lol.

That’s not what I said. I’m saying it’s real. If it was a smokescreen it would be the most well or weirdly executed one.

I personally have been resistant because I would just hate the pick so much. I get what you’re saying tho.

Hey, hey! Don't say WE don't like Fears around here. There are a few people who love Fears.
