Trade Ideas

Key for Jarace OR Mathurin. IND likely needs to trade one of them Key gives them some offense while Haliburton is out on a cheap contract. We probably need to send them something for Mathurin, not sure about the status of Jarance however.

Sexton -> ATL trade exception. Talked about this a couple times. Good option if ATL does not find another use for their TPE.

Key -> ATL. Same as Sexton, maybe we could get something.

Key for Pat Connaughton. Does MIL have enough crappy draft capital to make a move here? They won't give up their 31 for Key

Sexton OR Key + filler for RJ Barrett. Please no, but I could see it.

Sexton for Klay....idk, Klay goes somewhere. Sexton -> DAL was a rumor.

Key -> DAL. Maybe we can get some picks? We can take some bad salary back.

Trading up for a senior guard....

Like I feel a trade has to follow that. I feel like you want that guy playing right away if you liked him enough to move up for.

This is why gunning for small combo guards is pretty ****ing dumb.

There's a lot of them in the NBA, so there is a good success rate when you draft them. But the other side of that is that there's a lot of them and nobody needs them. AA is going to pay for his father's sins who held onto them for too long. It's honestly really hard to think of spots for either of them. Key is a bit easier because he is cheap labor for the next two years.

I think IND maybe makes the most sense for Key. But there's a good chance we're putting in extra draft capital for Walker or Mathurin.

ATL we just gotta hope they don't find a better use of their TPE. But I think they're going to try to give NAW the bag in a S&T or go for Aldama in S&T.

I had him high on my board, but the pressure is definitely on to play him early, the runway is limited for older players. I guess it worked for McCollum to wait, but I don't think that's a path to success. Obviously I loved Kas/Jase, but I think it's just better to draft young or a different position here unless you already have a plan to clear the logjam.

I’d still try for a S&T for Jonathan Kuminga first, and then come back to a 3 for 1 swap (Collins/Sexton/Clarkson) with Milwaukee for Damian Lillard if he goes somewhere else.

So if Ace turns into the best possible version of himself... then we have to start shifting our mindset from asset accumulation and value extraction towards building up. If we get lucky and land another blue chip prospect in the next draft then we are definitely entering the zone where the sense of urgency starts to grow.

Of course this depends on how Ace looks coming out of the gate and how he develops over the next few years. But its worthwhile nothing that his 8 year clock starts to tick next season.
