Development outliers are a guarantee in every draft so chucking them out seems like an odd thing to do.

I guess I am making it too complicated so I’ll bow out. But to me talking it through is a bit more interesting than just fishing for a ‘yes’

Best, most highly touted prospect we have had in the last 20 years? Yes. By far.

Best player we have drafted in the last 20 years? Who knows. He has a LONG way to go to prove himself. Spida and Rudy take the cake followed by Deron. But we have had a lot of misses over the years. But I am excited to watch him play in Summer League!

We are making the assessment the day after a player is drafted, not in hindsight after they’ve entered their prime years. That’s what makes them a “prospect”.

What’s the criteria?

Donovan had great defensive potential when coming out, and an offensive ceiling that no one could have even fathomed. If he had hit his defensive potential and still became the same offensive player, that’s hard to beat.

If he had done that we would have had a few rings and likely kept that team together. But he washed out completely on defense which continues to tank playoff teams to this day.

Dante drew Penny comparisons. But he sucked so bad its hard to say he was the "best" but I think he was very highly touted. I was prepared to **** on this but it feels like at least a 3 way tie.

I thought Kobe was the main comparison. Dante Exum Compared To Kobe. I imagine the general manager who said this is no longer employed. Though Dennis Lindsey was the one who took the gamble on the hype... It's crazy to think Nikola Jokic went 41st in that draft.

I'm a little tired of the crown on Bailey's head when the the last time he impacted winning he was in some high school gym. "Best prospects" have a clear track record on impacting winning, so I'm afraid to tell all you love birds that DWill runs away with this over Bailey.
