Listen, the Steelers moves this off-season are head scratching. Maybe Tomlin and the GM feel the hot seat as if they have to win now. Add Rodgers. Get rid of the immature Pickens and get Metcalf. Secure the CB spot by adding Ramsey to (Slay and Porter) while also adding a weapon in Smith for Rodgers. With the loss at safety, they (I would assume) might think they can sign someone as there’s a plethora of solid ones out there. Not sure of their cap situation or how he fits their scheme but Justin Simmons comes to mind.

All that said, I think they’re kidding their selves. No one area of their team is great. I’m not sure I’d even say any of their team is very good. Not their o line, or qb, or RBs or pass catchers. Defensively they’re overrated.

The only silver lining really is Will Howard. I believe in him.

You first said their moves are head scratching then proceed to list all the sensible moves they’ve made to improve the team.

That’s very…. head scratching.. lol..

Look we’re in a transition period, they’ve made the best of what they’ve got. Like i’ve said many times on this thread, their goal is to get a franchise QB out of the next year’s loaded QB draft. They’ve basically got Rodgers for free so they’re seeing if they can catching lightning in a bottle this year with him.

If not then no big deal, let him walk and reset.

It’s better than sitting around and stagnate.

It’s head scratching (other than Pickens and Metcalf moves) because they’ve gotten older. Rodgers is old and meh. Ramsey is considerably older than Minkah. Idk. Smith wants to be paid. Idk. Maybe they’ve done that while also balancing out youth in the draft in Harmon, Johnson, Sawyer and Howard plus two rookie corners. I just think Watt is on his way to being cooked I guess. His advanced stats really took a hit last year and now he’s a year older.

Pretty big names. Have to wait and see I guess. Watt is over 30 years old but should still have something left in the tank. Good pickup. Metcalf is the most imposing receiver in the league physically. He has his issues with route running and occasionally drops some balls he should catch but thats a good pick up too. I think Rodgers is a bad person and a jerk and could kill the locker room and might be washed up after taking a Jets team that supposedly was stacked with weapons absolutely nowhere.
Rodgers is the key to all this. Can he turn back to clock to what he once was? Maybe, maybe not.
Exciting if nothing else.
