The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

I get it, but then you bring in/don't waive Love, Anderson, Nurkic, and Niang who are all not ok not playing according to Locke.
I doubt Love plays all that much (he shot 36% from the field last year and is now a year greyer). They might let him fail to start, but I doubt he's provably better than the younger options. He's also an All-NBA player and champion so I do value his vet experience more than essentially any other vet we've ever had.

Nurkic/Anderson are better connective playmakers so I don't mind them playing as I think they will help the overall development of our best young players.

Niang is a Jazz legend great locker room guy, and always makes the offense better when he's on the court.

I think Locke is trying to mentally prepare the fan base for the vets to play more than they will , but I don't think it will be as excessive as some are thinking.

Missing on Matas while taking Cody one pick earlier for an NBA talent evaluator is really rough. Missing on a player in a different mold or position is one thing... missing on a same type of player that badly gets guys fired. Which I believe the rumor was some of the scouting guys got canned last year.

I wasn't high on Matas after being deceived by the G League draft prospects in prior drafts... so I can't thump my chest here.

It appears that the scouting staff might have whiffed two years in a row with high draft picks although the book isn't closed on either Tay Henny or Cody yet.

Nah Taylor gonna be fine. Can't judge that one too harshly with the injury. He was solid as a rookie. Its just disappointing cuz its not Wemby, Amen, etc.
