Following Potential 2026 Draftees

?

We need to give LAC something good to make them better and us worse. That would be a double wammy to OKC.

I had thought about Anderson for Lopez. I think Anderson can help them win. They are playing some trash wings while Lopez is DNP CD.

We can add Lopez to our trash pile of vet centers.

Svi would help the Clippers a lot. They need another rotation level wing. If Svi's consistency he has shown this year is real, he would help a team as a 20 mpg player

Svi could probably help a lot of teams, but Hardy will quit if they trade Svi lol.

Jokes aside, it would be similar to the Simone trade. But idk if we get that much.

I'd be okay with Karim Lopez as a backstop pick at #7 or #8. I think he's skilled enough to be an initiator if the Jazz can give him space, even if his feet are a bit slow. He has some similarities to a young Deni Avdija, imo, especially if he can show more handle.

If Karim Lopez is the best prospect at our pick, I won't feel that sad about missing out on it. His shooting, especially at his size, is very nice, but that's about the only thing that is exciting about him right now. I'm especially concerned about his soft defense and lack of explosion.

There is still time for him to change my mind, but I've been paying attention to the NBL this season, and I wouldn't have Karim in the lottery at the moment.

I kind of agree that he doesnt pop off the screen to me, but he's 18 years old in a pro league and putting up very good stats while 6'8.

I think he;s more back end lottery to me, like 12-14, but not having him lottery is kind of crazy because I dont think this draft is that deep.

His passing and decision-making are there. He should be good with NBA space due to his combination of size and skill. His slow feet do hold him back on defense though.

I'm fine with people having him higher than me, and agree to the point that I can't name 14 players I know are definitely better than Lopez. If got real serious about a big board he would probably be in a big tier of prospects in the 8-25 range that I'm not sure what to do with yet.

I haven't seen anything that's blown me away. His slow feet hold him back on offense as well where he is routinely blocked around the rim by NBL bigs.

I would say the one big hope for him is that he will eventually get much stronger which will improve his inside presence quite a bit.

I honestly haven't watched Lopez besides the one preseason game....but I was under the impression that he was a good defender or at the very least a great hustle/energy guy. Could be totally off base on that.

I think I feel great about the top 4. Fine with 5-6. Really iffy after that but I can talk myself into a few guys.

I'm sad the FO is letting this weird pride get in the way of just doing the right thing for one more year. From what I've heard at the best buy it matches the narrative that Baby Ainge is less about the tank than Daddy Ainge. Should have waited one more year for the NepoGM

We will have only done the right thing for one year, and even if you're not process oriented, that one year paid of well if you're happy with Ace. We needed every bit of that tanking effort to secure him in the draft.

We will care about this winning culture the same amount we care about the 37 and 31 year season, which is nothing at all. We will care about the losing culture from the 17 win season as much DET, CLE, HOU, and OKC care about their multiple years of bottoming out.

I think we end up doing some tank stuff at some point this season. When we do, the question we will ask is "why didn't we do this earlier".

Great post.
Been preaching this for a long time in regards to the whole losing culture thing and being proud that the team tried to win and got to the 30+ win mark or whatever.
