What's new

Havent done any real analysis but based on ability to shoot off balance I would also probably put Svi ahead of Brice. His shot is quick and very compact.
Yeah Svi's weakness though is that he doesn't get on balance great, but he does make the off balance ones looks pretty

I remember when Hayward made his shooting jump the thing he really credited that he changed was keeping his head still on his shot. Brice does the head flick thing too a lot I'm pretty sure

So let's see...

- We sat Svi and Nurk
- We gave tons of minutes to Love, Cody, Slo-Mo, Brice and an emasculated, Charmin-soft Flip
- An already exhausted Markkanen played 40 minutes and probably made a future double knee replacement 15% more likely
- Collier had his customary 4 turnovers in 18 minutes
- As a team we shot 31.7% from the perimeter (Dallas shot 41.7%)

... and we still won. Sometimes you just can't explain these things.

One thing is for sure, though: Lauri is becoming a legendary tank buster. There's nobody else in the NBA who fights this hard for a team that would rather lose (at an organizational level).

This W could be easily avoided, but it was still nice to see a lot of the young guys/future power is to victory. It’s a much better feeling when that happens instead of winning because of the geezers.

Key was really impressive because he was clearly tired and just willing his way through it. He didn’t need to have the ball all the time to still make an impact. The ability (and willingness) to play with and without the ball is huge.

Defensively, the Jazz were actually creating turnovers which was such a welcome sight. I think a lot of our players have the ability to be more deflections oriented, but we just don’t play that style. We obviously can’t do the “stay in front” kind of defense, so maybe a more chaotic style suits us.

It was the best of games, it was the worst of games, it was the age of tanking, it was the age of losing, it was the outcome of belief, it was the outcome of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the draft of hope, it was the draft of despair ...

Pretty much sums things up for this season.

When the vast majority of the win is because of your core youngins’ you just accept it as good news. Brice had a good all around game, which is a great sign and was active on D. Cody started great- he has found a niche where he can contribute consistently.

If we can get Flip and Hendricks untracked we’ll be looking at a Royal Flush- but statistically that is unlikely- not EVERYONE is going to pan out.

I really would like them to give Oscar some minutes to see what he is capable of in the big leagues- sometimes these stats gods can carry over a little bit.

I guess the paet of me that enjoyed last night is the fact that the Jazz finally have that guy you can give the ball to at the end of games to get you a bucket. That was the entire reason we were tanking in the first place. We also have our volume scorer.

Niether of them came from tanking, but here we are.

I suspect it’s Ryan. We still don’t have the full story of the Danny to Austin succession.
Austin is anti-tank from what I hear. Now Austin strikes me as the type of guy that tells the boss what he wants to hear... so maybe that's a mirror thing.

We will never get the real story. I will just say the story we were fed was a pile of BS. Danny didn't know at all huh... okay. Just like when Jerry Colangelo did a search for sixers GM and the answer was Bryan Colangelo... but it wasn't Jerry's decision. I don't think it was Danny's decision per se but the lines we were fed were nonsense.
