I guess you could give him somewhat of a pass for the mental side of things….idk. It was never good to begin with so that’s my biggest worry.

But best thing about TH has always been how easy it is to see him fit into a useful role. So it won’t take a miracle for him to get to that level.
Yeah he could still be an NBA player in a decent role with a mid motor. I just think the highest ceiling version of him is in there causing havoc by playing super hard. I just don't see that guy so need some of the other stuff to come to surface.

I'm a Taylor defender and there is no reason to give up right now anyway. It would be great to see him put together a couple good games to stoke the fire a bit.

If you got an okay offer for Collier, Brice, or Flip (in that order) I might be tempted to take it as we will need to churn some of these guys.

Too early on Clayton. Times when I see it...

Cody and Taylor I don't think there would be offers that are significant and they could have some upside. They are hold and see in my mind.

I've held true to my commitment to not evaluate Taylor until at least midway through the season, but were here now and I'm going to start paying closer attention. I'm not expecting much, but I would like to see some progress, specifically on court awareness. I know the body improvement stuff will happen in the off season, but it would nice to be able to see a few glimpses of what he could look like next year.

One of the subtexts here is we would be wise to start earmarking guys to trade because there’s no way they’re all making it. That starts by identifying the players you want to keep.

Worth mentioning also that if we’re keeping Svi then he’s another person that might make the rotation. And if they keep Nurk on a cheap deal, same thing.

All these guys should be playing for their basketball lives with this opportunity they have right now because cracking the rotation down the road is going to get much, much harder.

I’m not sure if the support for Cody Williams in this poll says more about his progress this season or the lack of progress from the other guys.

Both, imo. The OP already removed Keyonte, Ace and Walker from the poll, so it's a question of who is showing promise from among the guys who are left. While Cody has a lot of work he needs to do, the good news is that he appears to be buying in and working to improve.

Taylor isn't moving well or elevating as quickly as he used to. Some of it is undoubtedly the injury, and some of it may be due to weight gain. He looked promising as a plus-rebounder and secondary rim protector before the injury happened.

Changed one of my votes from Brice to Taylor.

What this team needs more of is athleticism, defense, and passing (this part is not a nod to Hendricks but is a nod to Collier). If Hendricks can get his body back he shows a lot of promise with the athleticism and defense.

Brice doesn’t provide any of those attributes lol. He undeniably hoops, though, and his size also gives him a lot of lineup versatility for a bench scorer but I just don’t know that this roster needs that more than the aforementioned attributes.

Brice for me is a no brainer. Allstar for sure. Isaiah is the other for me. I've haven't seen anyone on the Jazz with the vision he has (since Stock of course -- no not saying he'll be Stockton). I love that heady brand of b-ball. It's just his second year, and I'm willing to give him another year to figure his shot out.

I think it also just represents the moment. We are a little too reactive as a community in my opinion.

A couple of months ago Cody would have had close to 0 votes and Flip would have had much more.
I dont know what people envision him being. Im even sceptical of the value of elite lockdown defenders if they cant shoot... and Cody is far from that.

Dunn, and Tech came from scrapheap and they are better than Cody in every essential 3&D skill and both played with much more hustle and effort.

I guess I'd whittle down with this group rather than save 2 under that subtext. Survivor style... vote some guys off the island. The decider might be what can I get in trade for them. I'm reluctant on Brice though because I think the shooting comes back around.

If I was doing this based on "who might come back to haunt you because you gave up too early" I think Brice might be high on that list.

Also I think Brice can be slowed down quite easily if any team figures they need to do so and use yellow highlighter on his name in the scouting report.

I know thats a bit of a "champagne problem" (as that means he is considered a legit threat) but it could be a real problem in a playoff series.

I want my "bucket getters" to be theoretically harder to shut down.
