2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

Nurkic is not returning that kind of value at all.
You mean the 30th pick in the draft? Joe and Dieng are salary filler. They have no role for the thunder come playoff time and they get off Joe's salary for next year when Williams extension kicks in. Our pick has basically no value to them if we're trading Nurk so they might as well add him to beef up their front court and keep him from another contender. Right now the nugs have to be the favorite in the west and you need to be able to throw bodies at Nurkic. I wouldn't be surprised to see the spurs have interest as well just to keep him from the thunder. Throw us Olynyk and Sochan although I would waive Olynyk because Hardy will play him if he has the chance.

Correct. The Thunder collect 1sts, they don’t trade them for vets. And Nurk wouldn’t be worth that for his services anywhere for half a season.
eh, at some point a borderline 2nd round pick isn't worth that much to the Thunder when they have low firsts coming out of their ears and no slots available on the floor.

They also don't really need a center. They have IH and Jaylen Williams. I don't think Nurk plays over either.

Boston is the only team that makes sense to me that would give us something of actual value because trading for Nurk would help them both financially and on the court. The issue is Simons is actually playing well. It would be an easier sell to Boston if he was more thought of as negative on court value.

You can say that, but the evidence is they do not. Trade. 1sts. For. Vets.

Especially not for half a season. It’s not happening.

The thunder collected 1sts when they were in asset collection mode. Now they are in championship mode and they still have the clippers and rockets picks. Nurk give them a great depth piece at a low price.

Hartenstein has had injury issues and the west is going through Denver so you want as many big bodies as you can to throw at Jokic.

That's a decent point, but I don't they are willing to pay that price for an insurance policy.

Probably not but I think they should since their window is now and the price is so cheap. If I'm the jazz I'm shopping him to the spurs and thunder to see if one bites. To me the championship is a 3 horse race between the Thunder, Spurs and Nugs so if I'm the Thunder and Spurs I'd be looking to block the other team if the price is low. For the Spurs I think it's Olynyk and Sochan. For the thunder I think it's the offer I threw out. Both deals are strictly a this year deal with basically zero impact on their long term futures. Also don't discount the need for the thunder to get off Joe's money for next year. They are about to enter salary cap hell with Chet and Jalen's contracts kicking.
