Following Potential 2026 Draftees

No ceilings on locked on mentioned they’re not concerned about it but Wagler doesn’t have a 6th gear, so he is reliant on the pick and roll to create.

He also hasn’t had the same exposure to weights and physical training the other freshman on the eybl/aau circuit have so wonder that might be part of it.

Makes me ever so slightly ponder if he’s a lead guard or a Joe ingles.

Joe Ingles was the 3rd best player on those Jazz teams so that doesn’t really bother me.

6th gear kinda sounds like “above the rim” to me. It matters, but how often does that scenario actually present itself in the NBA? I think people think about NBA highlights too much when they think about translating to the next level.

Wagler’s strength worries me more than his speed. He looks really frail and that will make it hard to make routine plays and defend.

Guys add size and strength all the time in the NBA, but I would feel more comfortable if he wasn’t so far behind the curve right now.

Wagler is hardly a polished athlete so there should be level ups in his future in that department. But even as is he plays smart and has valuable skills that are almost guaranteed to translate.

I don't think he's the type of guy that's had all the high level coaching and such. May be misremembering but not being like some high recruit may mean he hasn't tapped into all those types of resources?

I also think its low hanging fruit. He doesn't seem to have the body that can't carry the weight or something. I think a couple summers in a serious strength and conditioning program and he looks way different. He's so productive being that small that if he adds it he might be real tough to stop with his skill and IQ.

He cooked a couple mismatches against purdue in the switch. He may not be like a turbo guy but I don't think he's Ingles slow. He reminds me a bit of Haliburton... who is another guy that got the Ingles comp iirc.

Adding size/strength is a believable improvement. I guess what I'm saying is he doesn't have the size that Kon did. As I'm watching these NBA games, strength is more important than ever and it's better to be on the thicc side.

Oh for sure. To be fair... Kon's wagon is unmatched lol.

I could see him having like an Anthony Black type frame. Maybe not as strong since Black did play football (not sure that was ever mentioned lol).

I guess I don't see him with like a super high center of gravity or being overly skinny. And Haliburton actually has some burst/pop that Wagler may not have. He just has a kind of Hally rhythm to him.

The guards are tremendous in this class. Makes me mad we have used picks on Clayton/Collier... would love to find a way to get a second pick and take a shot at Acuff/Burries/Philon/Wagler - whoever slides from this group. Normally one or two guards slide a bit on draft night... hitting a homerun on a Maxey/Brunson type bet would be great.

No but inability to argue the details is a failure in reasoning. Feel free to point out a flaw in my logic.
I already said I'm not interested in this argument since I'm not a Brown Jr fan or apologist. I had him at 9th in my last big board I did and you said he's not top 10, we might be pretty close on where we would draft him. Ultimately I don't think he's a fit for the Jazz so he's not a guy I want to scout too hard.

But if your argument is that he can only score against slow white guys based off of two games after returning from a back injury, maybe you should go and look at more film.

His coaching has probably been high level. He just didnt chase money to play on a shoe sponsored travel team or change HS's to make more money.

The story on his size is that he isnt an eater. He's already gained 30 lbs in college because he has people making him eat all the time. Im sure he has been training seriously and in the weight room, but some kids just dont have appetites.
