Jaren Jackson Jr. traded to the Jazz

My thoughts on this deal have more to do with what’s not in the deal:

1. I assume Kessler is gone, despite what’s being said. Hard to lock up a bunch of money in bigs. We may flirt with it by not trading him now, but risk letting him walk for nothing in the summer. If they plan to keep him, that’s another story, but see #2.

2. Cap allocation.

3. The death of the tank and 2026 pick.

I’m fine on JJJ but these three things can be absolute game changers and I hope the plan isn’t “we’ll cross those bridges if/when we get there.”

For now we need heavy catering of Zupas and that pizza place in Park City.

After 4000 years, the Jazz finally will no longer be the worst defensive team in the league.

Keyonte is going to be in hell handling the ball literally 100% of the time next year though, lol. Ace-Lauri-JJJ-Kessler is a very talented defensive group on paper and uhhhhh, their dribbling is less good.
Ball handing will def. be a concern. Darryn Peterson will help with that lol!!

Suns 2031 first is definitely a premium asset as Booker will be 34 by then. We didn't give up 3 firsts for no reason. And how’s our 2027 first gonna be mediocre? West is super stacked and even with JJJ we are a playin team at best. That's probably another lottery pick. That's my whole issue with the trade. JJJ isn't good enough to fix our issues on defense all on his own. And assuming we bring back Kess, we are out of ammo to improve our perimeter D.
Feels like our defense is bad by design right now. A desire to actually try and win can change the defense drastically.

They added a DPOY level player who can shoot for 2 mediocre picks and one far out mystery box pick. They will try to win a ring next year
This last part sounds delusional to me.

Also... best of 3 picks has much higher upside than just a mediocre pick. Also... are we giving up this year's pick? If so... it's essentially giving up 1 good pick, 1 mediocre pick, 1 mystery box pick and one potential top 5-6 pick in a phenomenal draft.

The starting five of Key, Ace, Lauri, JJJ, Walker...those are all players smart GM's would trade for. Every single one of them.
