Al Jefferson to Utah? ...Mark Stein's Twitter reports

Oh boy, this last sentence scares me from ESPN's current article on this matter. "Wolves management, sources said, have made the decision to break up the Jefferson-Love tandem largely because of their defensive struggles and lack of athleticism when paired together."

Are we trading one low post scorer who doesn't play defense for another?

Yes. But we already knew that. Jefferson is still bigger than Boozer and can thus match up better with the longer teams that gave us trouble.

I agree and I am not down on Al. He is a legit low post score, but if he is put in the traditional role, he will be a huge disappointment. He literally can't shoot more than 7 feet from the basket. He is not a good passer and nobody is going to step out on him on the pick n pop. Worst of all, he has the potential to really clog the middle on offense because his man does not have to guard him even remotely outside. With that said, a fresh new start could carry him a long way. If he adjusts and can get better or Jerry can tweek a little, it could be a coup for KOC.

So, in answer to your question, Jefferson will replace Booz as the guy drawing double teams. Probably one reason the trade was made.

Boozer didn't draw double teams. Most coaches were smart enough to avoid doubling a guy who would rather shoot jumpshots or fadeaway from 15 feet from a low post position.

Since I haven't seen it mentioned in the thread so far (granite, I haven't read the whole thread) Just a season ago, Jefferson averaged 23 and 11 and the season before, he averaged 21 and 11 - and that was while playing without a PG, let alone Deron.

Did you want Bosh or David Lee? I think more likely Al Jefferson pushes Okur to the bench and starts with AK and Millsap.
 
Al Jefferson is pretty much the exact same low post player Cousins projects to be if he meets expectations. And thats a big if. I don't understand some of the hate.
