First off, both Al and Millsap have 1.5 years remaining. Secondly, the Jazz can do better than 2 late first round picks and a bench big for Al and Millsap. Hell, the Jazz have four lottery picks from the last two drafts and potentially two more coming this year. What the **** do they need two more late firsts for? Third, the Jazz have all the cap space they need in 2013 (Al, Paul, Devin, Raja and Earl all come off the books, and there are some really good FA options that summer), and can continue shopping Al and Millsap until they get a better deal. Fortunately, there are 28 other teams in the NBA.
Your offer is ****, plain and simple.
I'd give you Al + Harris for KG's expiring, Avery and picks (and whatever other throw-ins need to happen). You need 3 bigs for a rotation. Jazz would still have that with Millsap, who is a near all-star, Favors and Kanter (that gives each 32-34 mins). Jazz would buy out KG, allowing him to sign with a contender. Utah gets out from under their two biggest contracts, and gets picks + a decent young player in Avery. Bosotn gets a 20/10 guy and a starting PG which allows them to trade Rondo in a different deal.s it really as bad as you're making it out to be?
What are the Jazz realistically getting for these guys with Big Al having 1.5 years left and Millsap having 3?
Top ten picks? No
All Star talent in return? No
Kanters and Favors stuck in no mans land? possibly, but they don't want to bench the two guys they're paying 23.5 million to do they?
So move them , get two picks in a deep draft, an excellent 6th man in Bass, and a basically guaranteed lottery pick this year, as well as your pick of the Celtics younger talent from the 2012 draft.
I think most on jazzfanz would love to see the jazz give the Celtics Al and Harris for Rondo and filler
That is tricky because the Jazz owe Minnesota their first round pick with the protections around it Boston (for this threads sake) wouldn't be guaranteed the pick this year because it could possibly go to Minni depending if the Jazz made the playoffs and I doubt the Jazz would trade the pick this year if they thought they're missing the playoffs. Also, quick question... I know we can trade the GS pick whenever, but people keep mentioning that we could throw in our own pick as well. Maybe I'm wrong, but we're not able to trade our pick right now are we? Don't we have to wait for the season to be over?

There is also a rule you can't trade your first round pick 2yrs in a row (I think they made this with the Knicks in mind) but since the Jazz could potentially have GSW's pick it could nullify that (basically as long as you have a first round pick even if it wasn't originally yours is fine).
I guess I should've let Kenwood, GVC or one of the other CBA experts answer this. I was just trying to say I think the Jazz could trade a first round pick but it would have many other stipulations tied to it on when the potential trading partner would actually get it (as well as I'm sure they would lotto protect it) as it would have to clear all those things we already typed out and we would know those until the year is finished.Technically we don't own our pick, as you said Minny does (even though it is lottery protected). It would be like GS trading their pick (even though we own it). I just don't think you can trade a pick with contingencies. If you don't outright own your pick, I'm fairly confident you can't trade it. But once the season is over (and the lottery), GS and us would then be allowed to trade the picks.
jefferson sure you can have that worthless sack of space(again basketball wise. as a person i respect Jefferson because he is a nice guy). It's potentially two top 20 picks plus Brandon Bass plus free agent space. We would probably take on a crap contract that you guys don't want either. Maybe Raja Bell?
but at least explain why.

I think you can. Depending on what happens the other team might have to wait an extra year to get that pick. Also, quick question...
