Trade: Millsap+Big Al for KG's expiring 21 million+Brandon Bass+2 first round picks+fillers

You get an E for effort to seek out our board and ask a question. But no, Boston doesn't have assests to entice us to give up Jefferson and Millsap. Perhaps if you want Harris and Jefferson we might be able to work something out.

First off, both Al and Millsap have 1.5 years remaining. Secondly, the Jazz can do better than 2 late first round picks and a bench big for Al and Millsap. Hell, the Jazz have four lottery picks from the last two drafts and potentially two more coming this year. What the **** do they need two more late firsts for? Third, the Jazz have all the cap space they need in 2013 (Al, Paul, Devin, Raja and Earl all come off the books, and there are some really good FA options that summer), and can continue shopping Al and Millsap until they get a better deal. Fortunately, there are 28 other teams in the NBA.

Your offer is ****, plain and simple.

Kevin O'Connor, Jazz GM here, sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this... I've been mulling this trade over for the past 2-3 minutes, and I think I've spent enough time thinking. It's time for action. It's a DEAL!

You get Al Jefferson and Millsap
We get Kevin Garnett, Brandon Bass, 2 late 1st rounders, and I get free tickets to Celtics games whenever I'm in town.

If you respond, "Yes" to this response, the deal will be considered final and we'll start the process of sending your new players to you. They will be arriving to you via covered wagon and should arrive in 2-3 months. I hope this is okay for you, as we have no other means of transportation out here. The Mormons believe cars and airplanes are the devil.

Thanks again for your offer,
-KOC

If you would take Harris instead of Millsap KOC would probably consider. Think we would try to get someone like Bradley as well though.

Trade either Big Al or Millsap, no need to trade both at once, or this year at all (unless a really good deal comes). This is not a good deal. We don't need that many 1st round picks (especially ones that are going to be around 15-20)

Swapping Jefferson out for Garnett would screw any chance of Jazz tanking this season.
Not ok with a trade that unimproves our draft pick.
Besides, Garnett is a giant douche.
I'd rather have Pavlovic back and dig my eyes out every second he's in the game.

s it really as bad as you're making it out to be?
What are the Jazz realistically getting for these guys with Big Al having 1.5 years left and Millsap having 3?
Top ten picks? No
All Star talent in return? No
Kanters and Favors stuck in no mans land? possibly, but they don't want to bench the two guys they're paying 23.5 million to do they?
So move them , get two picks in a deep draft, an excellent 6th man in Bass, and a basically guaranteed lottery pick this year, as well as your pick of the Celtics younger talent from the 2012 draft.
I'd give you Al + Harris for KG's expiring, Avery and picks (and whatever other throw-ins need to happen). You need 3 bigs for a rotation. Jazz would still have that with Millsap, who is a near all-star, Favors and Kanter (that gives each 32-34 mins). Jazz would buy out KG, allowing him to sign with a contender. Utah gets out from under their two biggest contracts, and gets picks + a decent young player in Avery. Bosotn gets a 20/10 guy and a starting PG which allows them to trade Rondo in a different deal.

I think most on jazzfanz would love to see the jazz give the Celtics Al and Harris for Rondo and filler

Al + Harris = $23MM
Rondo = $10MM

The only possible "filler" would be Allen at $10MM as well, and a Al+Harris for Rondo+Allen just doesn't seem like something Ainge would sign off on

Also, quick question... I know we can trade the GS pick whenever, but people keep mentioning that we could throw in our own pick as well. Maybe I'm wrong, but we're not able to trade our pick right now are we? Don't we have to wait for the season to be over?

I would trade AJ + Harris. rights to Tomic and NJ second round pick for Celtics 2 1st round picks and KG's expiring with Bradley and possibly one of the Purdue guys you drafted this year. I would try to get another team involved to take KG's contract and sweeten the deal for the Jazz and Celtics.

Why? This would free cap space to either to use on re-signing our young guys or for signing a FA SF/PG. This would also open up playing time for Favors/Kanter so we can truly evaluate them and get them experience. The Jazz are most likely not going to make the playoffs playing AJ and Millsap together and with Harris as its PG. The draft picks can be used to move up or meet the many needs that they need. Perhaps KOC can ask for the Clippers pick but have the Celtics pick in a year or two when the Celtics will really suck.

I don't think the Boston fan is coming back. Since Jazz fans don't want to be raped by his retarded trade we are all douches.

Same kind of guy that is in favor of contraction since he knows his huge market team won't be lost and just looks at all the players he could get.

That is tricky because the Jazz owe Minnesota their first round pick with the protections around it Boston (for this threads sake) wouldn't be guaranteed the pick this year because it could possibly go to Minni depending if the Jazz made the playoffs and I doubt the Jazz would trade the pick this year if they thought they're missing the playoffs.
There is also a rule you can't trade your first round pick 2yrs in a row (I think they made this with the Knicks in mind) but since the Jazz could potentially have GSW's pick it could nullify that (basically as long as you have a first round pick even if it wasn't originally yours is fine).

Technically we don't own our pick, as you said Minny does (even though it is lottery protected). It would be like GS trading their pick (even though we own it). I just don't think you can trade a pick with contingencies. If you don't outright own your pick, I'm fairly confident you can't trade it. But once the season is over (and the lottery), GS and us would then be allowed to trade the picks.

I guess I should've let Kenwood, GVC or one of the other CBA experts answer this. I was just trying to say I think the Jazz could trade a first round pick but it would have many other stipulations tied to it on when the potential trading partner would actually get it (as well as I'm sure they would lotto protect it) as it would have to clear all those things we already typed out and we would know those until the year is finished.

It's potentially two top 20 picks plus Brandon Bass plus free agent space. We would probably take on a crap contract that you guys don't want either. Maybe Raja Bell?
jefferson sure you can have that worthless sack of space(again basketball wise. as a person i respect Jefferson because he is a nice guy).
but we can get more than 2 first round picks and bass for millsap. so take your stupid trade and **** ***** **** ****** ****.
please delete your account and never come back.

this is plain insulting so you asked for it

This is called shining poo and calling it gold.

if jazz wanted to trade millsap and jefferson we can get real gold. not poo shined and called gold

I think you can. Depending on what happens the other team might have to wait an extra year to get that pick.
