LOL Now on ESPN rumor page says CJ and Harris are on the Trade block

https://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogsjazznotes/53607853-62/jazz-trade-utah-deadline.html.csp

Links to this article. Nothing imminent guess KOC fell asleep when we started going down the drain and now he is grasping at straws. You made your bed a trade this late isn't going to do anything but get rid of our real assets like lottery picks.

You do not know that. In fact he may have or he may have been tring to do something all along and this is the first we are hearing about it. That is why i do not make threads like this. I am not in on the inner workings of the Jazz so I do not know what they are or ar enot doing.

EXACTLY. As I've said multiple times on this board over several years, just because ESPN.com isn't posting twice daily updates about potential Jazz trades doesn't mean nothing is going on. Devin Harris is not Lebron James or Chris Paul or Carmello Anthony or Dwight Howard. The mainstream media does not give a **** what the Jazz are doing. And as I've said before, anyone that thinks KOC is a bad GM is completely oblivious to the business side of the NBA. Anyone that thinks KOC is solely responsible for on-court performance of the players or Ty Corbin's terrible rotations and thickheaded reliance on the "vets" has their head firmly up their own ***.

And by the way, ESPN's Insider rumor is citing a Tribune article from yesterday: https://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogsjazznotes/53607853-62/jazz-trade-utah-deadline.html.csp

Side note: Why is it, when there were years we were a good (but not great team), and we could have looked at other teams to take their "CJ's, Harris's, Al Jefferson's, Millsap's" and so on, we would NEVER make that trade. We would NEVER get that one missing guy mid-season that would propel a Stock-Malone team or even a DWill-Boozer team into contender territory... Yet, when we're on the other end of the spectrum, everyone is all about getting rid of our guys and instead help some other team that's considered "on the bubble of contending" get to "contender" status.

I hope if we can ever build a good group that gets us close, that Greggy-poo will step up and get those missing "Josh Howard's / Millsap's" that are maybe struggling on a not so good team so we can take advantage of the small windows that teams like Utah generally have to compete for a title

just my 2¢

Now that seems like a much more legitimate reason to dislike KOC. Much better then the other "reasons" to dislike him are.

Just imagine if everyone worked like KOC. Nothing would get done and you would be like - well I know I don't see any thingamajigs but they are all clocked in they have to be doing something.

Yeah look at all the trades happening so far this season there's...... uhhhmmm.........
CP3, stupid KOC couldn't even land him.
Odom, again stupid KOC couldn't get a player who the Lakers had to give away, that's so dysfunctional (except when playing the Jazz) the Mavs may buy him out.
Memo, stupid KOC couldn't even trade a player on his own team, since you know he hasn't made any trades.

Well that's about it, wait I think IND traded a SG to GSW who's a pretty good 3pt shooter so I guess there's that.

I'm not saying I don't like him because he is old, crabby, and sucks at MW3. I am talking about his body of work. Everyone is like well he drafted so and so. OK well where are they now??? Milsap and Matthews are his greatest no brainer pick. And where are they one is on Portland and the other one is getting pushed out the door. That isn't the best legacy. Sure he has hit with his lotto picks but that doesn''t count most of those are toss ups.

I do not think that is accurate or fair. Just because nothing happened does not mean nothing is goign on. If the best deal he could work up for Miles is a bad deal then I'd rather they not pull the trigger. Now if KOC only ever got bad deals that we couldn't use then yeah he is a bad GM. But he has had some real home runs before.

Now not trading any of the guys as soon as it became apparent that this team was not a championship team then yeah I think that is a much more legitimate gripe. But again maybe the only deals he could find were bad ones.

Why couldn't KOC land CP3 do we not have the assets???

Why not take a risk with getting Odom for nothing??? He is 7ft and he is talented.

There have been other trades. A good GM should not just make or not make a move based on his peers. A good GM is a con artist that make the chess moves ahead of everyone else.

He needs to create the deals. You don't go into war and let the other general oppose their will and you react. I don't care who you are you make the moves or you have already lost the battle.

They should make an nba rule that all trade talks have to be public. So that way the fans can see what's going on.

I need my instant gratification. I live in the now moment

How do you not understand that a lot of these big name free agents are dictating their destinations? The Jazz weren't going to get Paul for the same reason they weren't going to get Carmello, Lebron, Bosh, or Dwight Howard: THEY DO NOT WANT TO COME HERE.

It has nothing to do with the team, the organization, the coach or the GM. It has EVERYTHING to do with the destination. These players might want to win, but they also want to play for a large market team.

Look at the Nets. There's a strong possibility that They'll have Dwight Howard by the start of next season. Dwight and Deron want to play together. They're dictating who they play with. But do you think Dwight would be interested in playing with Deron if he was still here in Utah? **** no! They'd be planning their eventual move to Dallas, which may happen anyway.

Look at Lebron James. Before he ended up in Miami, there were many reports that his top preference was to actually stay in Cleveland and bring Bosh and Wade there with him. But Wade and Bosh didn't like that? They wanted to play with Lebron, but they wanted to do it in Miami.

Every single time someone mentions the reality of this team's unfortunate geographical location, every time someone mentions the challenge KOC has of bringing players here, you completely ignore it because it doesn't fit with your stubborn opinion of the man.

It's not like the Jazz are the only team in this boat. Milwaukee, Minnesota, Charlotte... these are not sexy destinations for players these days. The BEST thing this team has going for it is the tradition of winning. Being able to point to those bronze statues of Stockton and Malone out in front of the ESA and say "yeah, two of the best players to ever play the game wore our uniform".

KOC has done a fantastic job, especially with the Deron trade. When the 2012-2013 season starts and Deron is in a Mavericks uniform, there is NO WAY anyone on this board could claim that Utah didn't win that trade.

Take your ****ing head out of your ***.

Someone should point to where all of the blockbuster trades have been happening to this point. Because it's sure as **** not in the NBA. WHY ARE NO GMS DOING THEIR JOBS????//// ISN'[T IS THERE JOB 2 TRADE EVERYONE ALL THE TIME?????/

Maybe they decided it was not worth the risk of ending up with nothing. Which I agree with.

As for Odum I thinkt hey had a deal worked out once for the Jazz to get Oduma nd he refused to come. In case like that I do not want that player on my team. They could have been Michael Jordan and I would not want them

Haha, exactly.

Just like Lebron in the preseason last year, just like Melo last year before the deadline, just like Paul this year... no one is doing to do a goddamn thing until Dwight Howard's fate is decided.

Every single significant move will happen within 3 days of the trade deadline.

It is in NBA2k12. My Jazz team currently has a starting lineup of Ellis, Roy, myself, Odom, and Bynum. That's for 2012-2013 season.

Lol
Look at what CBS Sports says about CJ:

"As for Miles, he's certainly a player with a good amount of trade value. A big, strong defensive shooting guard that can hit from the outside. Playoff teams in search of help at 2-guard (Bulls, Clippers, Pacers) would likely be interested. But the Jazz are likely in the market for a solid draft pick or young asset in return."
