What's new

Last good song you listened to?

Haha :) I hear you Duck Rodgers, but the thing is, ahem, those samples are actually not asian music or even foreign, they're just plain American pop in foreign langs.

Excuse me for not being up on my K-Pop or Americanized K-pop. It still sounds like K-poop. And the Wondergirls are indeed from South Korea. They scream Asia. No American girls look like that even at all those dorky-con conventions where the Ameri-Asians try to look like authentic Asians. You can spot the fakes from 18,000 miles away after you've been in Asian countries enough. But Japanese particularly are ultra horrible with their English mixing in Japanese songs.

I respect you're music taste and opinions. Zaz shows that you know a lot about quality music, in first place. But we shouldn't underestimate American pop(or music), my friend. You can find hundreds of gems in it. The very opposite, you can't find easily a thing which is free of it yet popular at the same time. I.e. I still can't hear dominant asian music in those samples, yes they're korean or they look like or scream asian, but that music itself is nothing different than the music of this age of all over the world; american.

Anyway I liked the first song (the slow one), it's easy and grows on the mind. But to be honest it's not even close to my actual music taste, still, like I said, I liked it. I normally listen to every kind of thing, at least just on behalf of learning(musical wise). From outkast to to the deadliest metal from western or north-west europe, from crappy turkish pop to the old ottoman classical music, from country music or gospels to the western classics, my musical pursuit is unnecessarily wide. Because I know that the %90 of all the music is already like shi*. The rest of it is the thing what makes music worthy to spend time with. It's not about the country or genre, nor the people who make it, it's all about finding the gems, to me.

There is only one rule of music that I preach: If you badmouth someone else's music, they will be slow to listen to yours.

That said, I really don't care if any of you listen to my music. Doesn't change how much I enjoy it.

I saw these guys live a few months ago. Took a girl with me. When she went to the can, all the guys near me were saying "Damn! Your gf is so hot!!!"

Use to like these guys when I was in 6th grade, when I thought music was all about being technically awesome. I hate these guys with a passion now.

After a hot streak of good music posts, you post this.....sewage.

Sewage? Did you bother listening to it? Again, the video is pure nonsense, a fan-made bag of crap. And to be honest, the lyrics are horrible at best -- but is that not a solid/angry song? German is such a wonderful language for ridiculous songs like this.

Let me see if I can find something more to your listening pleasure...

Kicky is probably the only one that will get the connection:

"In a world where you're only living to go through your day like a robot,
the biggest excitement is the daily tv picture.

Every man lives like a clockwork, programmed like a roboter,
there's noone who stands up against it,
just a few youngsters are frustrated.

When the sun sets in the sky, the day starts for the „Droogs
They meet in small gangs and go hunting together.

Hey, here is Alex!
The curtain raises for his Horrorshow!
Hey, here is Alex!
The curtain raises for a little bit of Horrorshow!

On a crusade against order and the seemingly sane world, they celebrate destruction, violance and brutality.

Only when they see their victims suffer do they feel satisfaction.
There's nothing that will stop them now in their limitless anger.

Hey, here is Alex!
The curtain raises for his Horrorshow!
Hey, here is Alex!
The curtain raises for a little bit of Horrorshow!

Twenty against one, until you can see the blood, whether with sticks or stones, at some point the head will crack.
The next victim is already found while you're asking god: „Why havent you done something?

Hey, here is Alex!
The curtain raises for his Horrorshow!
Hey, here is Alex!
The curtain raises for a little bit of Horrorshow!"

And my final submission of the night:

Solid beat, solid rifs, angry but at the same time, calm. I believe they were thinking about KatieMCR when they wrote this song.

I just love this band. Seen them 8 times live, in places like Boulder, LA, San Fran, Phoenix, San Diego. Just amazing.
Might not be your cup of tea, but if you are looking for something different, might want to give them a try

When I saw them in Phoenix, I took a friend along who had never heard their stuff. We were standing pretty close to the stage and after the first song, my friend screams out "YOU GUYS KICK ***!" The singer, who is normallly very serious, busted up laughing.
