Stifle Tower
Punch Bowl Re-Filler
OK, 99% of us are mad as hell no trade was made, either for the sake of getting better or dumping vets and forcing Ty to develop the youngsters.
There are plenty of threads in which to vent our frustrations...and I have certainly done so already. Let's use this thread to talk about any positives, either with the Jazz or what it means for their pick(s), etc.
1. Portland just got a LOT worse. Traded Wallace for dead contracts. I can see them only winning a couple more games this season and perhaps being one of the teams to drop below GS.
2. Golden State just got better. SJAX returning would have been a disaster. Instead, they get a solid veteran in Jefferson who will be a decent starter or a good player off their bench. They'll miss Udoh in the middle, but Ellis was truly a black hole. Klay looks ready to replace Ellis' points without the high maintenance. I still think they have a decent shot of finishing 8th-10th.
3. New Jersey got better, but none of the other teams currently below GS did. And with Howard opting in for next year, do you think Deron will mentally "check out" of NJ? He did last year with Utah after our hot start. What's his incentive to play hard? He'll likely head to Dallas as a FA in the summer. Howard being traded to NJ would have put them ahead of GS. Now, even with Wallace, I'm not so sure.
