Punch Bowl Re-Filler
OK, 99% of us are mad as hell no trade was made, either for the sake of getting better or dumping vets and forcing Ty to develop the youngsters.

There are plenty of threads in which to vent our frustrations...and I have certainly done so already. Let's use this thread to talk about any positives, either with the Jazz or what it means for their pick(s), etc.

1. Portland just got a LOT worse. Traded Wallace for dead contracts. I can see them only winning a couple more games this season and perhaps being one of the teams to drop below GS.

2. Golden State just got better. SJAX returning would have been a disaster. Instead, they get a solid veteran in Jefferson who will be a decent starter or a good player off their bench. They'll miss Udoh in the middle, but Ellis was truly a black hole. Klay looks ready to replace Ellis' points without the high maintenance. I still think they have a decent shot of finishing 8th-10th.

3. New Jersey got better, but none of the other teams currently below GS did. And with Howard opting in for next year, do you think Deron will mentally "check out" of NJ? He did last year with Utah after our hot start. What's his incentive to play hard? He'll likely head to Dallas as a FA in the summer. Howard being traded to NJ would have put them ahead of GS. Now, even with Wallace, I'm not so sure.

1. I have an excuse to get very drunk and/or high tonight.

Here let me try:

With the Jazz ranking 28th in nearly every statistical defense catagory and not doing anything to improve its almost gauranteed that the Jazz will keep thier own pick this year.

How did I do?

On a sour note we have KOC still locked in untouchable GM $%#%me this is a waste. Nets turned MEMO into a piece to get Crash Wallace. What did we get for MEmo probably some piece of $%#% trade exception that we are never going to use. ON the bright side KOC did bring in Carroll who averages 2 pts a game in his NBA career.

I don't think KOC should be fired or anything, I would imagine it is hard to trade garbage without getting some garbage in return. Just cut Raja now and don't re-sign CJ, and we'll be headed in the right direction...

Miles and Howard will be gone after this season, so at least Burks will get legit minutes NEXT season.

What we got for Memo was under the luxury tax threshold. That's a savings of $10M for his salary + the penalty for being over + the tax sharing rebate.

If you don't think that's absolutely HUGE, you're delusional. It puts the Millers AND Jazz in terrific financial shape going forward, especially with additional salaries coming off the books this year and then the two remaining big ones (Jefferson and Harris) the year after.

The regular season ends in literally 1 month. Howard and CJ are gone. I know it sucks dealing with them for another month, but they can help us keep our pick more than anyone else.

Portland got the first round draft pick of the Nets, I thought Portland got the steal on that trade......that pick is huge IMO
Are the Nets stupid or something? Why would they give away that pick?? Am I the only one who thinks this?

Does the pick come with a condom? I seriously don't know. Is it protected?

If Howard is gone at the end of the season then why not move him there were plenty of teams wanting him.
But they probably wanted to give back a longer contract in the trade. I'm ok w/ Howard staying. Hayward is actually playing better with the 2nd unit. KOC really needed to get rid of Bell and CJ.

I didn't think the Nets could trade their 2012 1st-round pick, since we got their pick last year. If that's the case, the Blazers will have two lotto picks in this upcoming draft.
