Do you honestly think Al would be as good now had he stayed with the Wolves. I would be curious to see what our team would be like had we not traded for Al. Would we still have Matthews, would we have still traded Deron, would Deron have recruited D12 to come to Ut. Fun to think about and speculate.

I don't know but hard to imagine being a TW fan watching Al knowing all I got was BoomBitches and a mid round maybe. If that situation was reversed the pitchfork torch sale would be on outside ESA.

If that could have been possible, the DWill/Howard dream team, that's a finals threat for sure. Plus Sloan would have still been here most likely if DWill got somebody like that to keep him confident in the org.

Not sure if this has been posted already but........ The questions should be who matches up best with Favors?

Favors is a PF. He gets pushed around as a Center. So the combination of Favors & Jefferson is better IMO than Millsap & Favors.

We are too undersized with Favors and Millsap. Favors can dominate the PF position. He can't dominate the Center position in the same way.

If we trade Jefferson than we are saying Millsap is more important than Favors future IMO.

Trade Millsap and let Favors DEVELOP at the PF position. Lets not continue to move him around and hinder his development. Than when Jefferson's contract expires Kanter will be ready for the Center position.

I love Millsap but he will be easier to trade and has more value around the league and I think the combination & the future is more important than if Millsap or Jefferson is better than each other. When the question is about who is better rather than what is best for our young guys is choosing short term over long term success. Lets choose long term.

Favors can play both positions, and I would argue he is just as effective at center than PF, if not moreso. Don't forget in Favors' two best games of the season he started at center in place of Al (20&10, 23&17). He's 20 yrs old, he's going to get stronger and ultimately I only see a handful of 5's who will be able to push him around...the Dwight Howards and Andrew Bynums but they do the same to Al (heck, Kosta Perovic was able to manhandle Al underneath the basket). Favors has the requisite length to play the 5, and that also gives you two bigs who can show and recover on screen-roll as opposed to one, which is something not many teams have defensively.

If Favors ultimately develops more of a PF's game where he steps out and hit the mid-range jumper consistently, then he gives you great size at the 4 but until then he's well-suited to play both positions effectively. I've said before, all 3 combinations of Favors, Millsap and Kanter can play together and complement each other well.

This.

If I'm the Twolves watching what Al is doing this year I have to ask myself how much better the team would be with a stretch 4 and a center who commands doubles and triples.

Who is now passing like he never had. TW fans have to be thinking this was not a good trade.

My eyes bleed at the thought of watching Love and Jefferson playing defense side by side.

There are probably about 5 centers (at the most) that I would question "Can Favors handle these guys". 5 maybe pushing it though. Maybe more like 3.

D12, Javalle McGee (if he plays smart), and......Bynum?

McGee? Not even close. He had 1 good half.

Maybe Bogut (when healthy), but yeah Howard and Bynum. Favors can hold his own against 5's just as much as Jefferson currently does.

You have been making more sense today then you have all season. Too bad I can't rep you multiple times is a row. You seem to be on fire today.

Al easily could've/should've had 6-8 FT's tonight. One example was one of the OT's (I forget which one) he was rolling to the basket on a screen-roll, had a wide-open path but pulled up and took a 8-foot jumper instead that missed badly. Another time he had Zaza up in the air at the rim, could've leaned in and drawn a foul but spun back to the opposite shoulder for a push-shot that missed (fortunately Millsap got the rebound). Drawing fouls is a skill but it doesn't seem like Al has the desire to want to get to the foul line that most of the game's top scorers possess.

I was disappointed in both of them tonight. Hayward seemed to be getting the offense headed in the right direction and then hose two tried to take over the game and failed.
