Is Hayward God?

Gordon,

I know you read this crap. I really want to buy you a cold drink, shake your hand, and maybe share a smoothie or something. What do you say? Call or text: 801-641-7641, anytime.

I promise not to share your personal number with any of these infidels.

Talk to you soon,

Trout.

I can just see you two both sucking out of the same smoothie while gazing into each others eyes.

I really hope you kids can make it work.

Gordon is not God. But he may be superhuman, super, a mutant, part alien, or part machine.

Found this funny today: Prior to 2010 draft, David Locke talking with Jonathan Givony at Draft Express. Jazz had just worked out Hayward, Aminu, Xavier Henrey and Luke Babbit. Locke goes off on Hayward compared to Xavier Henrey. Lock insists that Hayward is too frail to play in the nba, that he will always be injured, but Xavier Henry had an NBA body and would be a solid contributor. Locke and Givony also opined about how Haywards game relied too much on him dominating the ball and how his limited athleticism and short arms would prevent him from playing defense in the NBA.

I eat crow about the player who is the best thing since canned soup, but not as bad as Locke should.

count me among those who thought hayward would never amount to much in the NBA. now he's one of my favorite jazz guys to watch, along with favors and millsap.

can't be right ALL the time, i guess.

I thought this about Hayward too until I saw him play a few games for the Jazz. You could immediately tell, even in his rookie year, his IQ was off the charts and was much more athletic than he showed at Butler.

Not that he hasn't been playing well lately but I think games like tonight won't be uncommon for the rest of the year from Gordon. He has something to play for and its on for Gordy.

When he hits 3's like he did tonight, it really opens up his game. He was able to get around Lowry with tiny head/pump fakes.

If Hayward actually ever adds a legitimate post-up game to his repertoire (so he could actually take advantage when teams guard him with guys 4'' shorter than he is) he could possibly become an all-star.
