Official Game Thread: "Uh oh, it's Magic" at Jazz...Saturday, 4/21, 8:30pm MT

How about some intellectual honesty? "Hater" is a generic term that in this case describes all the Jazz fans who dislike Jefferson. It was not me directly calling you a name, unlike yourself who directly went to the f'ing idiot card because you disagree with me about the worth of a basketball player.

It was a hack move by a hack poster, but that tends to be your style on this board so I'm not suprised or offended.

get over it and defend your position. you are obfuscating...

eh? I used a generic term (****ing moron) for those who perform a specific action (insult those who disagree with you). What's the difference?

Based on what criteria is Al a top offensive center? Volume alone?

I don't know if anyone else caught it, but driving home from the game tonight and listening to the post-game, they said that with Milsap, Favors, and Jefferson on the floor together, the Jazz outscored the Magic 71-35.

I want to see more of those three together on the floor.

I didn't hear that, but I will admit that Favors was dominant defensively and on the boards when he was in. He was also able to cover for some of Al's deficiencies on the defensive end. Al started to heat up offensively, and then made some sweet passes to win the game, so I can buy this. We absolutely annihilated Portland with this line-up. I'm all for seeing this more.

(... fill in lots of baseless opinions about Al...)

"wait, what did you call me? Let's talk about that...."

All he's done is made baseless assertions and tried to discredit anyone who disagrees with him by labeling them "haters". I realize I should handle myself better, but what the ****, sometimes it's fun acting like an ***.

For what it's worth, I thought Al's defense was improved earlier in the season. He was moving his feet and providing decent help from the weakside. Obviously, he wasn't spectacular defending the PnR, but he was a lot better then than he has been the last few weeks. His turnover and assist rates are at career high levels as well, and the offense has been better with him in the game (statistically).

He also has the lowest TS% and on-court team rebounding of all 4 Jazz bigs, and I'd say is easily the worst transition player on the team.

Is he a useful NBA player? Absolutely. But he's not a star, and in the future should not be paid as one.

I'll contintue to get the flak for liking Jefferson on this team, but I'll stick by my opinion. I think it was Locke who posted that Utah's best +/- lineup is when Jefferson, Favors, and Millsap all play together. I don't think that's by accident. Offensively, Jefferson provides the low post presence that I think any legit contender needs. He demands a double team and has gotten much better about passing out of the double team. His presence is huge in regards to spreading the floor for Utah. If the Jazz had any legit spot-up 3 point shooters, it would be even more evident. You can dislike Jefferson and his defense all you want, but you're not spreading the floor as well if Favors or Millsap is your main low post threat. I think Favors can be that guy in time, but he's certainly not right now. IMO Utah becomes much more easier to defend when you have the opposing team playing Favors or Sap one-on-one in the post.

Favors was brilliant tonight. He avoided all of the pitfalls that normally hold him back (offensive fouls, travels, horrible shots, foul trouble) and was extremely efficient.

Gotta love it.
