Official Game Thread: "Uh oh, it's Magic" at Jazz...Saturday, 4/21, 8:30pm MT

Al's big shots at the end were in one-to-one coverage against a much smaller guy. This is the NBA and he makes $14million/year... he should make those shots. Just look what Favors and Millsap did tonight with very few plays run for them (especially Favors). We are not going to miss Al's offensive output.

Ok, even though you're acting like a total condescending douchebag, I'll engage you, but for the record, people with decent arguments and intelligent things to say usually don't resort to name calling almost immediately. Nice work.

I think Al has improved every facet of his game since arriving in Utah. That doesn't mean I think he is a "great" or even "average" defender, but it doesn't change the fact that he has shown more effort on the defensive side and has gotten a little better.

I'll stand by my opinion that Utah's best chance at becoming legit contenders in the next 2 to 3 years invlolves starting Jefferson, Favors, and Millsap. Probably the best part about that line-up is that playing Favors alongside Al helps protect Al quite a bit defensively. IMO Al is a top 3 Center in the NBA offensively. Pau Gasol was known as a soft player and not renowned for his defense before going to LA. Funny how playing alongside Bynum has changed that for Pau.

Actually I was being unfair. I don't think it was PURELY Al's fault he kept being fed the ball. I think that's on Corbin. I also find it funny that the Jazz went out of their way NOT to force feed Al for the rest of the game after the 1st quarter disaster (he had about half of his points in that quarter). Al is Al. He only knows how to play loser ball. It is up to others to recognize that fault and build an offense that doesn't revolve around him. That's how we've been winning of late. By moving the ball and not relying on Al.
 
Al says all the right things. He's a great locker room guy. He's composed and willing....

these are great things. I wish him the best. Seriously. But 140+ games has really taken me to the limit. I'm tired.

"Hater" isn't an insult? If you want to have an intelligent, respectful discussion, maybe you shouldn't open with insult.

Good post. We all know what Al Jeff is: an elite post scorer and a barely adequate post defender. He's an okay, not great rebounder, and not really capable defending out on the floor. Favors is the anchor of our defense, and Jefferson is the anchor that we run our offense through. Jefferson was killing Glen Davis in the post time and time again in the 4th quarter and OT. That's what got Hayward and Harris their open looks, and also helped Favors and Millsap go to the offensive glass. Jefferson needs a defensive big like Favors to cover his weaknesses, just like Kevin Love needs Peckovic and Zach Randolph needs Marc Gasol. People are expecting too much from him if they think his D will ever be as half as good as his offense.

We know Orlando has shooters---Nelson, J.Rich, Redick, Anderson, even Glen Davis. I was surprised how scrappy they were on defense and on the boards.
