What's new

Joey Graham

I also remember Joey finally getting time and he took advantage of it. He quickly demolished what we had on the court. Although, I do agree, another wing? I would have to think that maybe the Jazz are looking at trading AK and would need another SF to fill out the roster?

On the other hand, who would you rather have, Jeffers or Graham? Both are tough. Both are more of a slasher than a shooter. Graham has much more experience and a little more talent. Jeffers would be cheaper. Graham would do better on a playoff team. I guess it would depend on how much it would take to bring him here.

He is one tough SOB Id take him for cheap but do we really need another wing? Rather spend it on a big like Ratliff, Etan Thomas, Amundson or Mikki Moore

Graham > Jeffers. If he comes at the min i'll do it.
I'm agreeing with Satan.
Graham is a decent shooter (49% career avg.) although he doesn't have range out to the three. Our last three roster spots are coming down to Jeffers, Gaines and Evans.
Is Graham better than Evans or Jeffers? Yes. He's also 6'7" so he could play either wing position. When AK goes down for 15 games with his ankle sprain or bad back, Jazz will need someone to fill in. Graham would provide some good depth in case Hayward isn't ready to step in right away.

I've suggested Moore a couple of times. Haven't heard his name connected with anyone. I wonder if he's decided to retire.

No STOP WITH THE GORTAT LOVE! He makes 7 mil a year for what the next 4 years? This has been discussed but Fes at 1-2 mil is a lot better than Gortat at 7 mil. Gortat is more mobile and maybe a little better offensively, besides that, there basically the same player

Gortat's stuck behind Howard, could probably start for some teams including the Jazz, and has always seemed hungry to play more.

As to Fes, for all his size, teams aren't actually banging down his door to sign him. He just doesn't know how to play basketball and doesn't care for it. Sure, sign him for 1-2M just for being big but as a 3rd string center who could come in as a backup when somebody's injured.

Sorry, Joey Graham, for stealing your thunder.

My theory is KOC thinks he can get by with Al/Sap/AK/Fes in the frontcourt until Memo gets back. That would also play into a strategy to try and get Fes more minutes which I know will make Minem very happy. But as presently constructed, they're one injury away from Jeffers being a rotation regular. My guess is they want an insurance policy for that possibility. But I don't think they're in a big rush to find that insurance policy. Graham just fits the mold.
