Nowhere there did it state that a trade with Brand was imminent. They simply mentioned that the organization would amnesty him in the right, seemingly perfect, scenario. That said, my trade proposal for him rocks and we need to pursue this.

BR said word was Philly might amnesty Brand. You said "Word from who?".

BR made up the trade thing himself as a possible scenario.

Well, Im not going to go PKM on you and pretend I have an inside source. I just read it from a philly writer. Thats why I added the caveat that I wasnt sure.

Ya, I like to add rookies, and so do you and others. But your guy's favorite GM (KOC), has said many times that he doesnt want to have too many young people on this team. Im not making that up. Thats why I think he doesnt want to draft more young players. So I am assuming that maybe other GM's think the same. I dont really know either way. Im just throwing stuff against the wall that I would do, that probably wont happen.

Plus philly is looking for a big and a lot of the bigs will be off the board at that point(15th pick). Thats more of a spot for us where the pg's are at.

To me philly just seems like a good trade partner for us

Hence, my proposal. Jefferson and Bell for Brand. Brand would probably be okay with coming off the bench, be a great veteran presence, be a better teacher to our young bigs than Fat Al, Utah would save 320K, and we'd get the 15th pick. Philly would get the big they so covet as well as his Bird Rights.

I didn't read through this entire thread, so maybe someone has mentioned this before, but interesting point from Locke on reducing protections. If the protections are reduced to top 3 in 2013 or 2014, or even removed altogether, GS would have less incentive to tank. Even if they are bad they might be trying to win while other teams are tanking. This could result in pushing the pick back a few more spots.

The talks with Utah were designed for the Warriors to keep the pick in the event they fall out of the top seven. But the source said at this point “that’s probably not going to happen.”

Been away. What deal are you guys talking right now? I just saw Brand being mentioned and, though I've stated recently that the Jazz and Philly have been in talks I had no details at all and certainly nothing I would call a done deal.
