What's new

So, I made an Al Jefferson trade to every team in the league.

Well, you'd be mistaken. Check the link at teh top of the OP to read through and see some Detroit responses.

That fan is an idiot then Monroe is excellent high post player to pair with Big Al. Stuckey is probably the deal breaker for most Detroit fans

This Sixers board on realgm has an insider with their org that says Jazz are talking to them about an Iggy for Jefferson swap.

That would be awesome.

Imagine if we traded Sap and Harris for Pau afterwards.

Pau/Favors/Iguodala front court.

OMG

I can absolutely confirm the Jazz and Philly have been talking regularly about a deal .. but I have gotten no info on the details .. this could be it?

If this happens I will high five every person I know, and you will be first in line.

Well, my best trade idea involves Iggy.

Jefferson and Harris to NOH
Okafor to Phi
Iggy and Jack to UT
Draft picks and filler as necessary

Not a rumor by any means. Just the machinations of my lil brain.

The problem with this trade is Philly likes iggy just not his contract. The reason the want to move him is reduce salary. Okafor just removes 1 yr Jefferson removes 2. They would want Jefferson more. Now if we could get noh to take Harris for okafor I would be ok with that.

If it works I'm down for a Jefferson iggy swap. I would not make any move after either except for a few low cost shooters. Harris would not need to dominate the ball and focus on scoring as Hayward and iggy will be the play makers on the wings.

More I think about it, I'm loving this. I think we are a top 4 team in the west with this deal. PKM...please push this through. Thanks.

I think a lot of people on this board have been drooling over the available cap space that we will have after next year. While cap space is good to have you have to be careful. There have been teams (I'm looking at you NJ) who thought it best to hoard cap space so they'd have a shot at getting an all-star, but if they miss out, they set their franchise back years because they end up having to use that cap space to sign players they otherwise wouldn't have wanted.

If we can get an Iggy or a Gasol (or both) for Paul/Al/Harris/other asset, I'd be all for it. Sure we'd kill our cap space for 2013, but I'd much rather know what I have going forward with elite players, than gamble in FA.

Sidenote: Iggy and Gasol only have 2 years left on their deals (technically Iggy has a player option after next year, so theoretically he could choose not to exercise that and become a FA after next year), so for all you who are scared of not being able to sign the young guys, Gasol & Iggy would not impede our ability to do so.

I'd consider trading Jefferson and Harris for Parker and Timmy "Done4" Duncan if they threw in cash, a protected pick, and Duncan agreed to the veteran minimum. We could use a guy like that to teach Kanter. I think he'd be useless to Favors though--he'd teach Duncan a thing or two like not going up soft against a shot blocker.

Unless it comes out that Duncan has been sleeping with Mrs. Pop, I don't think San Antonio will ever trade Duncan (think we ever would have traded Stockton?). But then again, I guess SA doesn't really mind when such things occur.

Their insider is sixerfan1976.

we have talked to utah about jefferson and earl watson in an iguodala deal. nothing close...just conversation....will have plenty more talks with utah and other teams as we get towards end of month. Not sure if there were other parts to that deal..but we kinda like Watson as a backup to Jrue apparently.

Iggy is interesting. He is definitely going to lose his athletic ability as his contract comes to an end, but he is still plenty athletic and is a smart player. He will continue to be a good defender until his contract ends, and he has improved his shooting.

It would just suck to have another 2 years of a player that is about 3-5 million dollars overpaid. I don't really expect us to be FA powerhouses either way, so I guess we have to spend the money somewhere, and if we can get a pick along with Iggy, that would make up for by getting a cheap 4 year contract.

Is Duncan a FA? I'd absolutely do that deal. I'd even do Duncan for Jefferson straight up. I'd be all for us having actual veterans teaching our young guys how to win, rather than the BS spin of guys like Bell being our veterans. Duncan and Nash would be game-changing for this team, in both the short and long-run.
