I have changed the way that I will be organizing my poker league. From here forward all RSVPs must be made vie a meetup group I have established, the Gameface Card Club https://www.meetup.com/Gameface-Card-Club/. Please visit the link and sign up. I must approve your membership before you can see any of the group details or RSVP for a meetup. Please pass this link on to your guests who have attended.

I feel like I can much better manage the group if we're all using a central location for RSVPs, standings, rules, etc.

I plan to offer a few other poker games in addition to the monthly league tournament. If you haven't participated in the league games but might be more interested in cash games and games other than No Limit Texas Hold'Em please give me a pm here or visit the link and request membership.

This is BS man. I can't upload a profile picture from my phone and I can't join the league until I have a profile picture. I knew u guys would do this. I wanna speak to your manager.

Done. Definitely a good way to manage RSVPs. Oh and to those who aren't aware, Meetup organizers have to pay a monthly fee to have a Meetup group. So keep that in mind before complaining about Gameface doing it through Meetup.

I want to come to the next game, but I'm not joining that.

Then you'll have to get someone else who does join to add you to their RSVP. Currently I check my RSVP thread, then the General discussion thread, then ask my wife if she's talked to the couple friends she knows who are interested, then send out an email to a few other people, then ask people who are already in if the people they know who have come before are coming again. Then usually miss someone or forget that someone said they were coming. Not everyone wants to create a Jazzfanz account and then get the password for my personal forum. Besides, due to new ways things are done on Jazzfanz new members (or in one case a member for several months who only posts in my forum) posts don't show up until reviewed by a moderator.

I will also be able to post the standings and other info on the one site and all people will be able to see them. I have been very lazy about getting the scores out in a way that everyone can see them. If everyone uses this web site everyone will have access to all the information everyone else has.

This will be the one and only place to make an RSVP. I will not be charging a membership fee. It is completely free to sign up. You can hide your other meetup groups from being visible to members of this group and/or hide this group from your others.

If you have never used meetup.com you should check it out for it's own sake. I first learned about it because my sister was in a mommy and me group through meetup.com. There are climbing groups, music fan groups, religious groups, poker groups, support groups, whatever.

Just in case anyone has the wrong idea, meetup.com is NOT adult friend finder or a dating site, it's for interest groups of one kind or another. Each group has their own forum, calendar, home page, etc. You can see who else has RSVPd for an event you are considering signing up for, you can leave comments on that event page, etc. It's really well set up and should make things easier for me and provide better access to information and upcoming events for those interested.

You can control what sorts of emails you get from meetup.com.

Anyway, I'm committed to using meetup.com to organize upcoming games. People who want to come to my house to play cards are going to have to sign up using the group I created there.

Hopefully you know I was just joshing you Gameface. Wouldn't let me sign up on my phone, but I'll sign up when I'm by a computer.

Archie, quit being such an Artard.

Yeah, I figured. Please pass the meetup info on to your friends.

I removed the requirement to have a profile pic. Didn't realize it was required.
