I think Ty deserves some more time. Even though I wasnt impressed with some of the rotations. Mainly Favors not seeing more time. The bell thing. The Howard thing. Evans not playing. But I think that has to do with pressure to play these high paid vets. I blame management for not making a move to remove that pressure. I know people think he should just sit Al or something, but it doesnt always work like that. Al was an investment and we had to see if he could get over some of his mistakes. Also Im sure behind closed doors management talk about these things. Like which direction the team is headed and if they need to showcase Al and shop his value. Believe it not they might do these things even though it hurts the team in the short term.
I just dont think all of the rotation issues should be blamed on him. I would like to see what he has when the roster is a little more settled.
However, I am worried a little bit that my assesment is wrong and he has developed Sloan tendencies already. Where he is more likely to favor a vet for all the wrong reasons. I didnt like how Jerry stuck to that plan far too often. I would like a coach like Thibodeau. Where he isnt afraid to sit an overpaid Boozer.
I hope what we seen from Corbin is nothing more than just some shopping being done by the team. Or maybe it is a Sloan tendency, buy he ends up scrapping it and making his own way. I think that Ty might feel a little pressure right now to coach like Sloan. He is on a short leash right now. And he is feeling his way through.
I think it is also a positive to have a black coach. Only if he turns out good though. The reason is because it would likely help attract black free agents. And it helps with our image of being a boring place to go play, on and off the court.
