Carroll Done For Summer League

Just another scrub who got too many mins last year. Don't mind him at the back of the bench, but there are a lot of guys I wouldn't mind there.

To be fair, I think most of us have burned that memory out of our brains. Was not a memorable time.

This times whatever. I want to forget everything about that series except that Favors started game 4. I hope that game 3 will be the last time that he ever comes off the bench in a Jazz uniform.

To be honest, my post about him pulling up lame was mostly sarcastic. I was a little disappointed that he wouldn’t be tougher and fight through it, but then I remembered its summer league. And he has a contract, and he has nothing to prove. He probably would play through it if he were fighting for a contract. Anyway, I agree with Cy that Carroll’s skills are not showcased favorably in a summer league. And I agree with Dalamon that Jazz management remembers how Carroll played to get the Jazz into the playoffs, and he will be evaluated by that performance not the summer league.

So to Demare I say, ice the ankle, enjoy Harry Potter World and don’t spend all your per diem in one place.

Damn it! Now we won't be able to trade him and be a part of the Dwight Howard 16 team trade.
I heard Brooklyn was still looking for a 17th team to take on the contract of Tornike Shengelia.

As for Carroll, I think he's already shown he belongs in the NBA. Solid defender who can hit some outside shots, although he lacks consistency. With Utah getting rid of so many wings, I think he sticks as the 3rd SF. Marvin starts and plays 25 mins, Hayward splits his time between SG/SF and Demarre gets 10 mins as needed.

I don't want to say I'm excited by this because I'm not and that would be overstating things, especially since I'm sure it's just a minor "injury," but I do like this for lack of a better word. I'm more in the camp that we need to play Hayward, Williams, and Burks about 30 minutes each, wins and losses, be damned. This injury, if it lingers or gets worse could do that. Otherwise, Burks may just be relegated to 18-22 minutes, decent time, but not enough for him to truly get the time I feel needs to develop his craft.

No way in hell. He's just too good of an all around player, even if he plays a few bad games.

sarcasm??

that's more like it.

honestly, he's a worker, which is the only reason i don't care if he occupies the role of the fourth wing. but carroll is barely an NBA player, so if we could upgrade that spot, i wouldn't feel too bad about it at all.

He sure came across as one when he played 44 minutes against Dallas in our 2OT win, putting up 15 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds @ 50% from the field. Was probably one of our biggest games of this season, with exception to the Phoenix game. Im not sure what more you could ask from an end-of-the-bench guy.

Not to mention the fact that he almost single-handedly kept us in certain games in the playoffs for periods of time. The guy doesn't have any great weaknesses, and is by no means a liability when he's out on the floor. He hits open shots, hustles, rebounds, and plays team-ball. Yeah, Id love Brandon Rush, but Carroll is more than good enough for now.
