Send big al to the bucks

Ummm... Isn't this the mindset that we want our owners to have?

I would think so. But a fair amount of people seem to think it's not possible to keep Big Al while still giving Favors and Kanter enough minutes to develop, so they'd rather see the Jazz lose a few more games for the sake of long-term improvement.

They probably have a point, but you can't fault the Millers for wanting to remain competitive.

I don't think that trading away Jefferson is going o mean less wins. I think favors is ready to start. I would rather get something for him then just let him walk next season.

Especially in a small market. The Jazz really can't afford to not be competitive for more than a year or two. If the Jazz had bungled things as horribly as the Knicks did for years, the Jazz may have gone extinct or relocated. But it's all good for the Knicks because they're in New York and can get tons of money for tv rights even when they suck. Of course it probably helps that the Knicks used to be owned by Cablevision and that James Dolan is still heavily involved with the Knicks and Cablevision. But even if that weren't the case, they'd probably still make bank on their tv rights.

Yes he did but his umbels show that he plays better as a center right now. Besides there really are 2 interchangeable positions on the court. Pf/c and sg/sf.

No pics, please.

Why Not?

Although, in truth these are not really Favor's umbels, just some generic ones.

Back on Topic, Sad to say but I feel certain that Kanter's summer league flop makes trading Al nigh unto impossible.

Now off topic, and enter my daily rant. Jazz are in the middle of the summer of 'Growth from Within'. But the rookie squad in Orlando did not include the two biggest pieces. Yes I know they were in Vegas playing with team USA, but freakin' KOC, Mama, and Rigby--ya'll need to get over it and get your team to the vegas summer league like the other 25 teams. Sure its vegas, and yea, it killed your quaint little RMR that we all fondly remember. But your grudge is only hurting you, and this year is worse than ever. You need to see how Enes and Favors play together, how about Burks and Hayward? Your coaches need to learn game managment. And your Enes needs playing time, Vegas is where he can get it.

Yes, there are hookers and groupies, drugs, alchohol, gambling, clubs, mob, loan sharks and guys who would latch onto your players now just to ask a little favor latter. But get your management head out fo the sand. Its the NBA and your guys are already getting hookers and groupies, drugs, alchohol, gambling, clubs, meeting the mob, loan sharks and guys find and latch onto your players now just to ask a little favor latter. Enes is a 6.5 million dollar investment this year and this is a decision year that he has got to prove he can provide a return. Get Enes and the team to Vegas.

Fair point. I shouldn't lump everyone who wants to see Big Al go into one category. I see your view as a bold stance since I think the Jazz automatically get at least a little worse without Big Al (depending on what the Jazz could get back for him), but we can agree to disagree.

I am not in favor of trading Al Jefferson, until the trade deadline, in order to see how Kanter and Favors have development, but Jefferson for Udrih and Udoh is something that is worthy of being considered. Udrih is an upgrade from Tinsley and Watson as a back-up PG and Udoh is a defensive force that can play PF or C and be a solid back-up for Kanter and Favors for years to come. As the Warriors often do, he was a reach for the lottery, but will be a solid rotational player.

The Bucks are definitely a possible location. I'd be shocked if they hadn't talked.

That said, they aren't giving up Udoh unless they have no faith that he'll become something. Defensive bigs on rookie contracts are worth something...

But, sheesh, if you look down the Bucks roster I can't imagine they're not worried about their production down low... maybe they'll get desperate?
