How many infractions do you have?

I wonder if I had just titled the thread differently instead of putting "insider" in the title if these jack potters would have even noticed. Doooh!

Nah, I saw "insider" and I thought it might be PKM with a scoop. He had me so excited around draft time and nothing he said panned out. His sources are completely unreliable.

They're real, but yeah, too much in flux. Sorry, should have refrained from posting anything .. I mean that sincerely.

I have two 'fractions, and of course, I was totally set up on both of them. I've never done a thing wrong in my life, and yet I get blamed for everything. I blame OldSchoolRules.

Hope you know I'm not serious. I'm sure 80%-90% of trade rumors never pan out. Remember the Boozer to LA deal that Pincus was so sure about?
And the rumors you were told about may have been "Plan B" if Mo didn't agree to the trade or Atlanta didn't send us Marvin for Devin. Or perhaps contingent upon certain things happening in the draft or other acqusitions by the other team.

Appreciate you posting. It got us excited that KOC was not just sitting on his hands. And sure enough, he did come through with some moves.

Yep. Agree, don't refrain from sharing in the future.

Yeah! Warning for posting an insider piece with the jazz offseason grades. This was not even 1/35th of the piece. Thank the whiney *** members on this board and the bi polar mods, no more insider pieces at least from me. biznitches.

The rule is extremely clear. Two paragraphs is the limit.

You can disagree all you like but the rule could not possibly be more clear.

If Jazzfanz is in mortal danger of having a lawsuit brought against them because of your post, I'm just wondering why it hasn't been removed.

It was, in fact, edited to have small snippets of info rather than being a verbatim recitation of the entire Utah Jazz section. But thanks for your uninformed input.

The rule is preventative. The facts are as follows: A handful of Disney-owned and affiliated enterprises have gone after message boards in the past for hosting pay-walled content. The WSJ has been quite aggressive about it previously. We would not survive a conflict with ESPN and its corporate parent. That's just the truth. We're applying an ounce of prevention rather than testing the limits of what they're willing to put up with.

And I would think posting "Uh...mods?" is clearly calling you out in public (vs sending a report to the mods). Wouldn't that qualify as "backseast moderating" under the posted rules?

"Back-seat Moderators: If members note a possible problem, they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a moderator or administrator via a private message. However, members are asked to not act as "back-seat moderators"; please do not make moderation-related comments in board threads. Members who consistently "act" as moderators may receive infractions."

There's also a rule against arguing with moderators. To date, I've never had any rules lawyers bring that one up though.

We encourage users to report violations to us, that's why the ability to do so is attached to every post.

Verlin got a slap on the wrist. Nothing happened to him. Boo hoo.

I'm curious. Are you saying then that my comment, "Uh...mods," was in fact backseat moderating?

Even though you weren't asking for my opinion specifically, that post easily could have been interpreted as backseat moderating until your next post in the thread made it obvious that it wasn't.

FWIW, I doubt anyone, at all, was serious about the back-seat moderating comment. Everyone knows, I would assume, that Wes was just giving a friendly head's up that it may be a violation.

Now back to not being so serious ..
