Kanter to workout with Kiki Vandeweghe

You have to love what Kanter is doing. How many players with potential throw it all away because of bad work habits?
At least Enes is doing his part. He needed to get ripped up, stay away from the pulls of money/fame, and work on his game.

No one here is really excited about Kanter. His rookie season is being looking at very negatively. All things considered I think he had a good rookie season.
Now let's see if he can make the jump with one year under his belt, and training camp.

I was very encouraged by Kanter's rookie season.

I am almost equally as discouraged with his summer league play and his refusal to play for the Turkish NT. Of course there are some behind-the-scenes things, but from my vantage point, Kanter's been doing more preparation and less playing than almost anyone, and he needs to balance that out a bit. I sure hope he doesn't have an unrealistic appraisal of himself.

I second this.

I'm sure last year was stressful for him. He's created something of a 'home' in preparation for play (sitting out like he did at UK), and he seems to have rushed back into that comfortable/familiar place. I hope I'm wrong about that, but he's gonna have to prove otherwise to me.

(That said, there has been a huge over-reaction against Kanter this summer. I'm still patient and optimistic.)

I like this. A slow, lumbering white dude with no vertical who at his peak was still a great player is the best person to teach Enes, who right now is simply a slow, lumbering white dude with no vertical.

I was encouraged by Kanter's rookie season in the sense that even if he doesn't develop that much, he is at least a top tier rebounder.

It's ****ing irritating listening to some people who assume that because Kanter isn't an elite leaper he must therefore be slow. Not true. Look at the measurements. Look at his success guarding the PnR last year.

Thanks,
Your sanity

This. He defended the PnR at a better than average rate.

Kanter blew up PnRs. I couldn't believe how he picked up PGs. I really hope that continues.
