Kanter to workout with Kiki Vandeweghe

I looked up Kiki on Wikipedia, and I do maintain some level of skepticism when it comes to Wikipedia. One thing stood out to me in particular:

"His offensive repertoire was essentially limited to a single move, the jab step, but he was so proficient at this lone move that it was often referred to as the "Kiki Move" toward the end of his career."

Kanter needs to have more than one move, but maybe he will master the jab step with Kiki. On another note, it seems odd that Kiki ever worked for the Mavs because he was drafted by the Mavs but refused to play for them and demanded a trade.

Kiki averaged about 24.5 points over seven seasons from age 23-29. He definitely had more than the jab-step, but who knows what on earth he's doing with Kanter. I'm all for seeing Kanter drive to the basket more than once all year or seeing him swing his arms around with the ball in his hands like he's doing some sort of Mr. Miyagi training maneuver. Liked his defensive speed, but he had tunnel vision a bit too much.

but he had tunnel vision a bit too much.

I agree. This is my biggest fear about Kanter. I am worried that he might turn into the great white hole. I would hope that someone works with him to improve his passing.

What the ****? The term "black hole" has nothing to do with AL's race, it's the fact that once something goes into a black hole, it isn't coming back.

The "Great White Hole" just sounds like some porn stars bleached *******.

Once something goes in there, it isn't coming back.

I like this. A slow, lumbering white dude with no vertical who at his peak was still a great player is the best person to teach Enes, who right now is simply a slow, lumbering white dude with no vertical.

My goodness. Is no one here old enough to remember Kiki Vandeweghe's game? He was a sweet shooting SF that couldn't rebound or defend, but had a fairly good first step offensively, was certainly not slow or lumbering, could get to and finish at the rim occasionally, and was known as rather soft. Great college player. Played with Mike Sanders (when Sanders was a 6'6" center) at UCLA. He had a run with both Denver and Portland of 7 years over 20 ppg in the NBA. Think what people expected out of Adam Morrison, except a better athlete.

If he's teaching Kanter anything related to his own strengths, I hope it's how to develop a go-to offensive move.

kiki wasn't some slow, plodding, unathletic monster. the guy could move with the basketball and he had range on his shot. he is closer to memo than ostertag.
