More fun from ESPN...Their Josh Smith trade thread

Insider has an article about Josh Smith and how he might be traded soon and they have a list of possible trades that make the brain dead trade threads look like the theory of relativity. They list the Jazz as a long shot to trade for Smith and write this gem:

Only Denver has as many tradeable assets as Utah, and a swap of Smith for Paul Millsap and someone like Enes Kanter, Derrick Favors, Alec Burks or Gordon Hayward would make sense, but it's doubtful Smith would sign a long-term deal with the Jazz.

Can you imagine the riots that would happen if they traded Millsap and Favors/Kanter/Hayward for Josh Smith? The thought of adding Josh Smith to the Jazz almost makes me break into a cold sweat as it is.The suggestion of trading the future (and Millsap) for him makes my head hurt.

I would flip Smith for Millsap straight up. There's little chance the Jazz can resign Millsap this off season & they'd have a better shot at extending Smoove due to current contract size. He's not re-signing with ATL & Millsap probably wouldn't either, but at least ATL saves another $5mm this year under their gut-it program.

I'm fondly remembering the days of 2005 when the board was openly yearning to trade AK for Josh Smith.

Ohhhhh.......I read it wrong, of course I wouldn't trade him for Paul and all those guys, But Milsap, Favors, Kanter and Burks, sure. Obviously Hayward is untouchable.

Where you been, bro? Was just asking the other day whether you're still alive.

College Football is the most important thing I have in my life, which is both sad and true all at the same time. Plus yur' boy is a pretty avid cyclist so that keeps me away from the computer when not at work.

I have missed ma'dudes though, PKM!

Cool. Good to hear from ya.

On the topic of Smith trades- he and Favors are from the Atlanta area (as I recall). A Favors and Smith frontcourt would be killer defensively, but would lack any consistent midrange shot. I really doubt this one would happen. He seems more like a Denver kind of player.

Enter Dennis Lindsay and his advanced metrics spreadsheet doowhicky.....and all this Smith talk is squashed.

Smith has skills, but his pps and adjusted fg% is terrible. Uses alot of possesions, doesn't make his teamates better.
