In Jazz History 3 players have worn the #10

Howard Eisley (1996-2000)
Gordan Giricek (2004-2008)
Alec Burks (2012)

I'm getting excited to start hearing the news that info that filters out of camp. What shape did they report in? Who looks to have hit the weights? Especially concerning The Four and the new guys.

Corbin is supposed to gather his coaching staff this weekend or next week to discuss changes and the upcoming season. Hopefully we hear something...

Word on the street is that Saturday is a big day.

In College Alec Burks shot 53% as a Freshman, but dropped to 47% as a sophmore.

_______
Last year he shot 43% fg, 33% from 3pt, and 73% ft. He averaged 2 rebounds and 1 assist in about 15 minutes played.

At #10 in the all-time Jazz ranks:

Games: Rich Kelley (497)
Minutes: Deron Williams (15632)
Points: Rickey Green (6917)
Rebounds: Paul Millsap (3238)
Assists: Howard Eisley (1472) Fitting since he wore #10 for most of his time with the Jazz.
Steals: Pete Maravich (467)
Blocks: John Stockton (315) Longevity is the main key to this one. Stockton never blocked more than 24 shots in a season.

I have a great Howard Eisley post that I was working on yesterday that is on my home computer. I'll post it in a bit.

Howard Eisley played for the Jazz from the 1995-96 to the 1999-00 seasons. He would return to play for the Jazz later, but we’ll save that part of his Jazz career for later as he was wearing a different number then.

In 1996-97 Eisley had 10 blocks. He signed 3 10-day contracts in his career. He had 9 games with 10 or more assists with the Jazz. In one of those games the Jazz beat the Mavs (the team he played for right after the Jazz) by 10 points. For the Mavs, Dennis Scott and Khalid Reeves each scored 10 points. On the Jazz side, other than Eisley’s 10 assists, John Stockton had 10 assists of his own and Karl Malone had 10 FGs.

Eisley left the Jazz as part of a 4-team trade involving 9 current players and a draft pick used on a player who did play in the NBA, for a total of 10 players. Eisley was the only one in the bunch to ever wear #10. FWIW, Danny Fortson played 10 seasons in the NBA and was the 10th overall pick in the 1997 draft. Bruno Sundov’s birthday is February 10th.

On August 10, 2001, Eisley was part of a 3-team trade. Former Jazzman Shandon Anderson, who played 10 seasons in the league was part of it too.

In January 2004 Eisley was part of trade between the Knicks and the Suns that had some serious Jazz implications. One pick in that trade eventually ended up with the Jazz and was used to select Kirk Snyder. Another one was used by the Jazz to select Gordon Hayward in the 2010 draft.

Great idea.
