ACLU sues New Orleans over Christian speech

Wait, I thought the ACLU was a bunch of atheist commies trying to destroy the American way?

Good for them. Not their usual m.o. as reported but good for them.

Not their usual m.o. as reported by those who are generally on the side of trying to suppress others, but the ACLU has a very long and rich history of supporting the rights of all sides and frequently taking on undesireable clients. Here's a lengthy list of links to pro-Christian representation by the ACLU in recent years.

Full disclosure: I interned with the ACLU in college.

I'm sorry. I'd pitch that as community service.

As for the "as reported" part that was a nod to the right leaning bias that they usually receive from reports about their activities. ACLU appears in FOX all the time.

They don't report much about the ACLU m.o.

They defend Christians several times each year.

That depends on where you are getting your news from. The ACLU is not highly regarded ont he right and as such receives freuqnet negative reporting in right wing media.

If you want your religious liberties protected go to the ACLJ.

Full disclosure. I didn't intern with the ACLJ in college.

I don't endorse a lot of the clientele that the ACLU takes on but that's why they should be respected. Nobody on earth will endorse all of the clientele of the ACLU, but the brain-sick take special effort to lash out at anything that's ever sided against their interests or beliefs and think the ACLU is anything besides what it's advertised as.

The main difference is that the lawyers at the ACLJ are partisan, while the ones at the ACLU tend to be more competant. To each his ownl.
