OKC Trade is a glimpse into our future

Why it is dumb? Was it dumb for somebody to predict that LBJ will be best NBA player at one point before he played single game in NBA? Anything can happen, Lamb has great size and skills to be better then Harden IMHO, why it is dumb? Harden is good, but does not mean Lamb can't surpass him.

Maybe not dumb, but wrong .. opinions.

Kid, read one more time , I was questioning Orangello not you.

I responded to a post that you made, quoting my post. I knew that you were addressing orangello, which is why I couldn't understand why you were typing all of that out in a response to a post of mine.

Dal, so you are saying that it is better if the Raptors just miss the playoffs?

Yes and no. If the Raptors miss the playoffs, its best if they get a top 3 pick. Otherwise, off they miss the playoffs, and they DONT get a top 3 lottery pick, then OKC keeps the Toronto pick. HOWEVER, OKC won't get the pick if Toronto makes the playoffs. As a result, the only sort of pick that OKC can get from Toronto is a lottery pick, as long as it isn't in the top 3 (for this year). Year 2, 3, and 4 will change top top 2, top 2, and top 1 respectively. If Toronro makes the playoffs for this year, and the three years afterwards, OKC won't get a single first rounder.

Well, I'm convinced. OKC cleaned up in this trade.

lol.

It is dumb when you say that a player will surpass another player, without having seen them play a single game in the NBA. You never said 'can', which is much different. Regardless, I'm excited to witness the latest installment of "AKMVP blows another basketball projection yet again".

We need to do something similar with Millsap or Al. I really hope we dont let them walk for nothing.

Letting them walk for nothing would at least give us lots of cap space to sign a legit PG. Though, I'm very anxious to get Favors and Kanter the minutes they, not only need, but deserve. Having said that, I'm not sure I'd be willing to trade Al/Sap if it endangers our ability to re-sign the young guys. That would be a little counter-intuitive. I don't want to let them walk for nothing, but it's going to be tricky business finding other expiring contracts or draft picks for them. Tricky business, indeed.

It's all about how much we believe in our young wings, in my view. I'm not necessarily sold on our young wings. The PG question is a big one, but where do we get this PG? Who on this list plus rookies could we get?: https://www.hoopsstats.com/basketball/fantasy/nba/playerstats/12/2/eff

Just looked... Only Bryant, Wade and R.Allen had 6 or more seasons with 20+ pts average from current shooting guards in NBA. That is ELITE company and K.Mart belongs there.

Monta Ellis just missed this list by one season in which he had 19 points/game. Don't forget him.

I'm hoping for Holiday. He can distribute, spread the floor, and defend. nightmare43534564756 posted a link in another thread saying that Philly will most likely let Holiday enter free agency, and with the amount of cap space we have, I'm optimistic we can acquire him.

But yes, it is about how sold the FO is on The Four. Me, personally? I guess you could say I'm quite the homer on our core. I'm hoping we take a leap of faith on them, let Al and Sap go, and use whatever money we can on a PG, while hopefully still having enough to re-sign all four of the younglings.

For the most part AKMVP has a good points. My only disagreement about this is that Martin has never, repeat never played an entire season. He is constantly injured.
07-08 61 games
08-09 52 games
09-10 46 games
10-11 80 games (also his best season)
11-12 40 games

Martin is now 30 years old with a history of injury problems IMO he is on the down hill.

I do think that OKC got a good deal for Hardin and I have always thought Hardin was a bit over valued and never would have given him a max contract. Houston has been swinging for the fences for 2 years now to land a star. IMO OKC wins this deal even if Martin is on the decline because of the draft picks and Lamb

Very true. And playing limited minutes off the bench for contender may be just what doctor ordered for K.Mart. He must be ecstatic now.

K wait according to ESPN Houston also got Cole Aldritch, Lazar Hayward, and Dequan Cook in this deal. That means they gave up 2 guys and got back 4. Don't they already have like 20 under contract for this year? Who the heck are they going to cut. And how many contracts are they going to eat?

I as well add IMHO. So it is not statement or fact, it is My Honest Opinion. Prediction. Why you so fast to dismiss it as dumb I have no idea. I am not betting my house or kids lives on that.

Opinions can be wrong. See PKM's post.
