Favors the Superstar

Mission Accomplished

Not saying this isn't in his future. But, right now he is averaging just about what Jarron Collins could give us in a game offensively. I'm sick of this overhyping of him and Hayward. Right now that are no where near what you guys are hyping them to be. So, sit back and quite parading these players like they are something until they do something.

Its kind of hard to tell just how a complete game would look from him until he actually gets to play a string of whole games together. You cant just take a snap shot of his limited time on the floor.

He isnt a superstar yet, but I am willing to bet that if he got starter minutes, he would soon be averaging 18/10 and 3 blks.

He just needs more reps. It too hard to do that when he isnt getting enough minutes, and the minutes he is getting, he is playing next another big looking for a lot of shots. Never has he had the chance to be the focal point of the offense down low.

I think this is the big mistake the Jazz are making. I think they are just expecting him to pick up a rhythm and the confidence somewhere in a gym by his self. I would think it would be better for him to learn by experience and not watching.

I would say neither of them would become superstar, but you dont need 5 superstar in a team. Hayward for me is a perfect team player, and i think he is undervalued, if he is used in correct place (2 not 3) so we can compensate his physical deficiency and get very good contribution from him. Favors have so many flaws in his game yet, some people in this site consist to neglect it , but he has such a long way to go in order to fulfill his potential. I was very high on him before but when i see his slow progress and inconsistency i get a little bit disappointed.

Not saying that's superstar numbers but they are above average, not overhyped.

You do realize that Hayward and Favors are recognized throughout the LEAGUE as being potential all-stars at some point in their career? This isn't something that only jazzfanz posters think. It's much more beyond that. Lots of commentators and experts have talked about the potential these two have. Favors has been tagged as a potential star. I don't think a superstar. So don't just attack the board. Attack the mindset of everyone who has seen him play. Go watch NBATV's Utah Jazz preview. Karl Malone said he thinks favors will become a star. I think Karl knows what it takes much more than you do.

The fact that you pointed out his averages from 2 games this season and compared them to Jarron Collins is pretty dumb. Hey even Jarron Collins got starter minutes, which is something corbin refuses to give favors.

It's not like we are all saying "Oh wow favors has a great jump shot!" or "His post moves are unstoppable." Were saying his defense will potentially be elite!! He may become one of the best interior defenders in the league. On top of that he will score a lot off pick and rolls and offensive rebounds. The POTENTIAL factor is what if his jump shot becomes consistent? What if he makes his free throws? What if he becomes a terror in the post?. Those things are all possible with him, it's not a long shot at all for him. We see flashes and he is still just a kid.

Hayward I don't think is being demanded enough of him. Look at our starting lineup with Millsap, Jefferson, Mo Williams, and Marvin Williams. Ty is demanding scoring from those guys. I'm pretty sure Hayward has been told not to force anything, and to make the right play. I don't know what more you expect from him at this point except maybe better shooting. But, it's still early in the season. Ya he blew it last night defensively. But, I still don't get your point. Nobody ever said hayward was the next carmelo anthony, and favors is the next dwight howard.

What about Kanter? Just week ago he was voted as most potential superstar here. Real games started and where is Kanter? To bad some Jazz fans can't see without their pink homer glasses.
It is better not to expect crazy things so then you are not as disappointed when nothing happens.

Please, don't put Derrick Favors and Jarron Collins in the same sentence. Collins had less talent than one of Favor's sneakers does. Collins was the epitome of a wasted roster spot.

He might not be a big offensive force now. But what he does on defense and how he affects the game is star like. When he went out the Hornets kept running the high PnR with ease. No he isn't the scorer we had hoped for. But he does affect the game when he is playing. The team intensity goes up, and it's far more fun to watch.

^ this.

It's obvious you are just a hater, mission accomplished...

Favors is now rebounding very aggressively and at an incredible rate, while playing great defense. Assists and points are the problem. If he can even sore like he did last year and start passing the ball a bit more he would be fantastic. He would be /36 well over 12 rebounds, 1 steal, 3 blocks, great D in general, 15-16 points, and 1-2 assists on 50% shooting. Worried about him though since Kanter has not been his preseason form so far.

Thanks the old doctor has some great advice that is what I'm saying I think Kanter and Burks will end up being the better of the four but lets let time tell us. If they get min and play I'm fine but we need to get off this overhyping of these players.
