After further evaluation I have come to the conclusion Kanter is not an all star.

Note: Preseason is not good way of assessing player talent

Kanter is not an all-star

he never will be. He's going to be SOLID, but nothing special and definitely not worth the 3rd pick we spent on him. SORRY KANTER FANS.

In last years draft, he was picked where he should have been. No doubt he is 15 and 10 player in his prime.

You still cant get over it ? Its been more than a year already, i feel bad for you

It took Kanter full season to record single double double in NBA. It took JV first game to do that. In 3 games as a rookie he already has half assists Kanter had in whole season. Unbelievable how Jazz office did not see what kind of player they leaving on the draft board.
It is nothing against Kanter, he will be solid bruiser in the league and will rebound well enough to have long career but his ceiling is nowhere near what JV is. But you right, we should get over numerous botched draft choices KOC made. Such is life in Jazzland.

You still focus on stats, dont forget it will take more than a year for Kanter to play consistently, more than 20 mins or so, because he is battling with Favors, Big Al and Millsap, and who is Valanciunas fighting for his position with? Ed Davis? Amir Johnson ? Btw he sucked in the last game, Kanter never sucked in games he got more than 20 mins.

Believe me i have nothing against Valanciunas, but it's major mistake to evaluate and decide he is better than Kanter with one game, we will see him throughout the season, consistency is the most important thing for a big men, we will see how consistent Jonas is throughout the year.

He's 20. Those fun little stats you just pumped out mean absolutely nothing at this point.

So tell me then how many games it took for Kanter to play +20 minutes? Well, still counting if i'm not mistaken..

Loss to New Orleans he played 20 min and sucked. And trust me I saw more then 100 games from JV to see where he is better then Kanter ( longer, better passer, better shooter, better FT shooter, better shot blocker, better pick and roll player, better basketball IQ ). Only clear advantage Kanter has is rebounding. Last year you said JV is to skinny to play in NBA, guess what JV is 257lbs, Kanter 242lbs now. Kanter is better suited to play PF, not sure why Jazz trying to make center out of him. I see Kanter as good rebounder, or R.Evans with better offense. JV on the other hand could very easily be top 3 center in NBA in 3-4 years.
But nevermind, it is water under the bridge now.
Kanter badly needed game experience and he skipped on Turkey national team - not a smart decision which is haunting him now. All these workouts and Pilates is for nothing if you have no clue what to do with the ball when double teams come.

Jazzfanz voted Kanter off way too early in the Survivor, then just a few weeks later declared him the most likely superstar. Now people are down a little again after just a few games. I need to stop being surprised by these things.

My opinion of Kanter has always been that he'll be a guy that will likely get us 15 PPG, but has the potential to reach the 17-18 PPG range, as well as pulling down 13 RPG. So, yes, I think he's future All-Star material, especially in a league so void of true big men.

I can't believe I agree with some of AKMVP's sentences.

Why did Kanter tear apart Jonas every time they played each other then?

This.

And, just don't underestimate Kanter's talents. His career which is a really short one yet, is full of wrong decisions and lacks game time and experience. So, even just because of this fact solely, it'll take a lot longer him to utilize his talents.

And all the ill luck of him, made him drafted by a wrong team for his own good. Even though the Jazz team is the only one that I'm truly a fan of in the NBA, I believe it would be way better for everyone if the Jazz drafted JV and the Cavaliers had taken Kanter. Thus, Enes would find the minutes he desperately needs and the Jazz would have stashed JV overseas for a year like the Raptors did, until they get rid of the Big Pain this year. At least this way JV wouldn't be behind of Big Hole as long as Enes will do.
