Mo Williams decision making????

Twin Towers

I made a thread after the suns game without Mo Williams. And how well the ball movement was without Mo Williams.

We were scoring great before he started shooting us out of the game. Why is he shooting 19 times!!!!

He is killing ball movement. Tyrone Corbin is doing much much better and I am liking his rotations more and more, but Corbin needs to stop letting Mo Williams run the offense. On fast breaks he throws the ball away constantly. And he is always looking to shoot. His pick and rolls are horrible. He is only looking to shoot and has no idea how to be patient off the roll. Its either shoot or drive to the basket and take a terrible shot.

He has an amazing ability to shoot and is quick. But if you look back at the suns game everyone was more involved. Mo Williams needs to be utilized as a SG and let Hayward run the offense. Otherwise we won't make the playoffs with Mo running the show (He is better then Harris but it doesn't justify his horrible decisions).

But wait twin towers, who would you want at point guard since i know you dont like d-will, cp3, nash, rondo etc etc.

Tinsley?

My biggest problem that I'm observing is that mo (and Foye when he is ball handling) almost NEVER feed the big off the pick and roll/pop. I watched at least 6 possessions tonight where favors and/or millsap set a pick to become wide open and the ball handler would dribble in to 2 to 3 people then reset at the top of the key. Been seeing it all season.

You nailed it. Even Tinsley does the same thing with the second unit.

Tinsley?

They are great point guards no question. But you cap yourself out when you have 1 guy who facilitates all of the offense. Or Mo who isn't a PG he is just a shooter.

I am not saying trade him. I am saying run the offense through Hayward. He looks for people open after screens or someone rotates. We can still utilize him in a great way.

And yes I am bashing the guys that hog the ball. I would take Tinsley over guys like Iverson, Francis, Marbuary etc etc. Even Tinsely at this age.
Basketball is not about getting the most talent on a team. Every great coach will tell you that. And I don't even like Tinsely he is slow and can't shoot. But Tinsely at least gets everyone involved and doesn't dominate the ball. So he gets everyone apart of the offense rather then 1 guy who has to be the shooter or playmaker and everyone stands around and watches them dribble in circles. Tired of these PG's in the league.
If you let the PG dominate the ball you are choosing the PG over the other 4 guys on the court. Let the ball move around. Chuckers are not any better either like Mo Williams. Stop looking at stats!!!!!!

I love this post. Gave you a rep. But I will say the PG's are not looking. Tinsley is better at looking the Mo and Foye but he is not even good at it but he is better and doesn't dominate the ball.
But also some blame is on the big's. Only Millsap runs the pick and roll properly. Favors, Kanter & Jefferson are not playing the defense. They roll the same way to the basket. Malone did this perfectly as we all know. But how he did it was by watching the defender and seeing if they sag or come up on him. He didn't roll the exact same way every time. Malone needs to come in and teach these young guys how to play it right.

Not suprising when arm chair coaches miss how many times Mo Williams passed up clear paths for easy scoop left hand layups all for team ball. No winning with you vultures...

agreed^^^^
the arrows were suppossed to point to pkm's post lol.

Keep trollin, as there is clearly no winning with you.

Just so ya know i have seen poster criticize burks, evans, hayward, kanter, jefferson, mo, marvin, millsap, foye, tinsley, carroll and corbin.
Only guys i have not seen criticized this year are murphy and favors.
Its not just your boys corbin and big al that get criticized but they are the 2 that probably impact the game the most so they recieve the most criticism.
Try chilling out dude. Roast a bowl and you will feel better :)

The truth is that when Mo is not hitting his shot, the offense is more effective with Tinsley. This has happened more than once this year when Mo was off and the offense had bogged down, and Tinsley was inserted and we went on a run. But Tinsley is usually only effective in spurts and usually can't maintain his effectiveness for an entire game, especially if he has to guard a PG who is a good offensive player.
