Looking at the Lakers roster, there is absolutely nothing on their team that even mildly interests me. Unless there is a way to just give him to them for a draft pick (or a draft pick and an expiring), then I don't see a point in trading him.

Instead of giving them Burks to replace Roy give them Bell to replace Roy.

The makes the salaries a wash for this year and saves the Lakers a but load of luxury tax money next year...

This still allows the Jazz to compete this year, ya we have Gasol for 20 mil next year but he then becomes insurance if Kanter doesn't pan out we can look to resign him!!

If this trade was offered to me a week ago, I would have done it. I'd have to think about it a little more now. I think a Pau Gasol trade is inevitable though.

and How do buyouts work? Do the Jazz just waive him and pay the a portion of his salary while the Lakers pay the rest or what?

Bell for Blake or Duhon would work. Blake is in the doghouse since Brown was let go, and he is a step up from Tinsley and Watson. If the Lakers would do Bell and Tinsley for Blake, I would do that trade and I suggested it a few months ago.
