would the jazz improve dramatically with Malone as an assistant coach?

There are a couple reasons that I bring this up.
When Sloan retired, Malone said he wanted to be an assistant coach. Greg Miller did not allow this to happen. He said that he believed Malone was too "unreliable" to be an assistant coach. I think G. Millet was not only wrong but stupid for not making a move. Karl Malone was not un-reliable at anything he touched. He missed only 9 games in an 18 year career with the jazz. IaHow much more reliable can you get? Our defense would be an undestructable monster after Malone got done with them. If Millers dad (our true owner with a brain) could say Malone was worthy of a statue, than why would his son say he's not worthy of coaching? These guys need to learn defense and there's no better guy to do it. Those who saw Malone play know he's the man!!!!!

A drastic change with Malone? Probably not, but I think he would help the team. They would benefit more from having him that not.
I'd love to see him get his hands on Favors, and Kanter. Maybe he would light a fire under Big Al's lazy fat *** too.

I don't know that Malone would help much. I could see him being a distraction and possibly undermining the FO or HC.

There's a big difference between being a player (who was a bit of a drama queen behind the scenes) and being a coach.

It would be an entertaining experiment. I say go for it.

I don't agree with G Miller on the unreliable thing but I seriously doubt that Karl would be a good coach. Just don't see it. Many examples of great players not being good at coaching.

At most I would give Malone a dual role as the strength and conditioning coach and the big man coach. I would not turn the entire team over to him.

Has he ever coached anything in his life? Just becasue he was a great basketball player does not make him a good coach. With no experience in coaching I would not agree with turning the team over to him.

Karl would make the halftime chat with a Jazz assistant segment MUCH more entertaining.

Actually I think it would fun. This team, coach and owner are all so well behaved and say the nice things all the time. A little bit of personallity and a little bit of crazy would be fun.

Malone would not be a good coach. However, does anyone think Stockton might give it a go sometime? I always figured when he retired he would spend some "make up" time with the fam until his kids grew up, but once all the youngins were out of the house, he'd want to be involved in some way. I think he's still got one kid in HS, but does anyone else think he'd want to do "something" in 3-4 yrs?

Seems like Malone is much more Hulk than Bruce Banner. I think for a coach you really need more Bruce Banner.

I honestly don't think so. I could see him coaching the local HS team wherever he lives, but I think Stockton really likes to keep it on the D/L.
