Greg Popovich says "suck it" to the NBA.

I don't think he's been a fan of the busy NBA schedule:

The San Antonio Spurs have sent four of their top-five leading scorers back home instead of playing the Miami Heat on Thursday in a nationally televised game.

Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green did not travel with the team after Wednesday night’s win in Orlando.

The Spurs were already without Kawhi Leonard and Stephen Jackson.

Gregg Popovich will have nine active players.

“We’re getting tired,” Popovich said. “We’ve had a six-day trip and a 10-day trip. Usually you don’t have that in one month.”

Im sure TNT is going to be REALLY happy about this.

I think that's awesome. You ask your players to give 100%. You pay them a lot of money, they win, and you build a great team by doing things like this, from time to time.

why is this in the general discussion forum beaner bro? i can think of two other forums on this very site that would be better for it.

Popovich is an ***. The NBA needs to fine and suspend him, and let it be known that healthy players will be fined and suspended without pay. Those four players aren't being paid to sit games out.

Further proof the NBA is a joke.

I thought Phil Jackson was going to do this on Christmas day a couple years ago. He should have IMO.

this doesn't make sense bro. think about it.
who is paying the players? the owner. who is deciding to rest them? the coach. who is choosing the coach? the owner.
the owner is basically responsible for this happening. who decides to fine/suspend people? the "NBA" i.e. stern and stu jackson.
who do they work for? that's right, the team owners. owner isn't gonna fine himself bro. think about it.

The only time I've agreed with one of your scarce non-trolling posts.

Where do the owners get their money from?

TV and fans.

Sitting those players screws over who really pays the checks...TV and fans.

You wanna kill your product? Have average fan click over to see the "big" game between SA and Miami...and see SA down 40 in the third with LeBron/Wade/Bosh on the bench due to the blowout.

Like I said, the NBA is a joke. One more tidbit to add to poor officials, poor salary caps, unmotivated players....

If the NBA is going to allow this, they should just cancel the regular season and go straight to the playoffs...at least then we can watch the actual players worth watching.

Bottom line he gets paid to win games. If he thinks this gives him a chance to end up with more wins at the end of the year then go for it. He has a future Hall of Fame, NBA Championship track record to his credit, so it's hard to argue with his tactics.

Spurs have done this before. More specifically against the Jazz at few years ago and still almost won the game.

So you want the NBA to police if the team feels the player is healthy enough? Where do you draw the line there?

Good for Pop for doing what he thinks is best for his team.

bro, most owners get their money from a lot of sources. one of those is fans.
as a fan i dont diagree with you. fans have every right to be pissed. they can punish the nba by not watching the games and giving them lower ratings or not buying tickets, merchandise, etc.
nba suspending them doesnt make sense bro. pop is just doing what he thinks is best for his players and in turn the team. its not like he is purposely doing this to make a bad product bro. think about it bro. think about it.

He's right, green. You have every right to be pissed. Teams have every right to manage the health of their team's players in pursuit of a championship.

Congratulations on jumping to the top of the list for dumbest posters on this site!!! Keep it up!

I'd be pissed if I was a fan who forked out several hundred dollars for tickets to this game. Even more pissed if I had to fly or drive hundreds of miles after forking out several hundred dollars for tickets.
