Simple question. Will Corbin be fired if we doesn't make the playoffs?

If we don't make to the postseason should we bring him back?
I think Greg Miller will have a much swifter axl when it comes to coaches, but we really don't know until we see him
fire someone.

Follow up question is making the playoffs enough? Do we need to see improvement?
Making the 1st series competitive, or going to the 2nd round.

Probably not. Seems like we're just spinning our wheels till next year. If we don't do well they might decide to just clean house as far as players go.

This is an easy no. 1. The Jazz don't do that type of thing and 2. We wouldn't have given him an extension early on if they wanted to see what he could do

The more important question is if we continually achieve the 8th seed an get bumped would that be sufficient for change? The answer is unlikely.

This is not an easy question to answer. My worry is that the Jazz do make the playoffs (just barely) and that the Jazz extend Jefferson and Millsap because Corbin will say that Favors and Kanter can't do that for the Jazz. If that ends up happening, my love for the Jazz will be severely tested.

Greg was just on the court the other day holding Ty back from getting tossed from the game after a T. Not exactly the kind of behavior you'd expect from an owner that has his coach on a hot seat.

If we don't make the playoffs I see Greg as the guy who could pull the trigger.
Not a for sure thing, but how can you justify bringing a coach back who can't get this squad to the playoffs?

The problem is, and the more likely scenario is that we barely make the playoffs, and get bounced again in the 1st.

At least Greg seems more proactive than his father. Yes, Larry loved the team but he never did anything as risky as the Deron Williams trade.

I don't think Corbin will be back. They gave him a one year extension. Not exactly a ringing endorsement. I feel like Lindsay is going to ride this year out (unless some KILLER deal comes along, ie Harden for Al) and blow it up after the season.

This is a dream job for a GM. After this year you have Hayward, Favors, Kanter, and Burks and nothing else. No big contracts, no bad players. Also, your coach gets paid peanuts and will be a lame duck (ie, fireable) coach.

You can make this team however you want it. The slate is empty with 4 really nice pens.

Tom Nilsalke (sp?) then they hired Frank Layden.

They need to fire nisalke again..... right now. Man does he suck on the radio. Sounds like he is 300 years old.

It's not about the playoffs. It's about the narrative. If the perception is he loses control of the ship over the second half then I think there's a chance he gets let go. But in Jazzland, that means really sputtering with a few brutal losing streaks. I'd say 10% chance at most.
