Trade idea for a pg of the future

I've mentioned him a couple times, but most don't seem too impressed with him. I'll probably take lots of crap for who I'd give up, but I'm talking about giving up Burks for Vasquez and D miller.

NO. does it because they drafted Rivers with the ninth pick, and also have Eric Gordon. I'm sure NO thinks of them as the future starters of that team at the 1 and 2 spots. If Gordon doesn't work out they have Burks, who would be able to get more minutes to develop, and still has lots of upside.

Jazz do it because, well let's face it Burks is rotting on the bench. What good is he if he can't get a single minute. I believe Vasquez is vastly improved this year on a bad team and still has lots of room to get even better. He's a good shooter, good passer, and is improving at running an offense as a pg, he's a bigger pg at 6-4. He's shooting 36% from three, getting 12 points a game and, my favorit stat getting 8.4 assists per game. That's got to be around top 5 in assists in the NBA, and he's doing that on a crappy team.

The only question I have is, would NO do this? Does anyone know how NO values him?

I know this trade idea will provoke the Burke fans, but my view is, the jazz are more likely to push him out the door then develop him as a good sg.

Am I off my rocker, oh! I almost forgot we also get D-Miller. Burks for Vasquez doesn't work by themselves.

Thoughts, am I completely off my rocker???

Burks has no value to the league. He wouldn't be enough to grab the starting PG of the Hornets. Rivers sucks so far, NO will keep Vasquez to keep winning.
Why do the Jazz need 4 point guards?

We have three pg's but none are the future of the jazz two of them are over the hill.

He has value because he hasn't had the proper chance to show what he can do.

That's the same reason why he doesn't have any value.
I just don't see why they give up Vasquez (an great starting PG so far) for someone who has yet to show up in the league. If I were the Hornets, I would keep Vasquez because Rivers and Gordon aren't working.

Your probably right, but I really like Vasquez, and went to the Espn trade machine, and with Vasquez low salary, doesn't provide many options, so either way you look at it, it's a long shot.

Don't get me wrong though, as far as young PGs are concerned, Vasquez is on the top 5 of my list. I just don't think NO will give up on him especially since Rivers sucks.

At least Rivers sucks in the NBA. Marshall sucks in D-League!
I can't believe I was on the Marshall bandwagon for a while last year.

Well I'm not sold on the whole he can't even play in d league. Dont think his skills are a match in that very hard to watch league. Lots of one on one ball and no BB IQ.

Would probably have to throw in a 1st-rounder too, which would be ok since it looks like neither Utah nor GS will be in the lottery.

Trading a player and a pick for a PG we believe in would probably be a good move at this point. I'm not sure what kind of player we'd get with a late-teens pick in this draft. I think where we should upgrade is at SG, if Burks isn't going to be the guy.

NO has Rivers and Gordon at the two (true Gordon keeps getting injured though). NO would have no one at the point. Perhaps a 3 team trade with MN and one of their points.

I'm not impressed with Vasquez in the least.

I mean he's OK. I guess he belongs in the league. But he is not a starting PG for a good team.
