A Utah Jazz employee is in hot water for a message he posted to the team's official Twitter account in the wake of Brooklyn firing coach Avery Johnson.
"Phil Jackson won't go to Brooklyn," the tweet said. "He'll only go somewhere he can win a title. Not interested in good players, he wants great players."
Jackson, the former Chicago and Lakers coach, has been rumored as a possible successor to Johnson.
The Jazz released a statement Friday morning stating the employee, who was not identified, no longer has access to the Twitter account and that other internal disciplinary action is underway.
The tweet has since been removed.
In the statement the team said, "The Jazz does not comment on other NBA teams transactions and furthermore, does not condone any negative comments about players, coaches, or front office staff throughout the league. It is simply unprofessional and unacceptable."
A Nets blog, Nets Take Over, posted a screen shot of the tweet, and wondered if the comment was a shot at former Jazz point guard Deron Williams, now in Brooklyn. Williams publicly panned Johnson's offense last week when the Jazz were in Brooklyn, saying he was more comfortable in the Jazz system.

Guy gets in trouble for stating the truth? WTF is wrong with this world. Deron is not a great player. He was in Utah but his stats now prove otherwise. If only Ty Corbin could get in trouble like that employee for being a horrible coach. I'd love to see, "Ty Corbin no longer has access to any coaching with the Utah Jazz."

And people here wonder why Locke, Boone, Johnson, Thurl, Steve Brown, Matt Harpring, & Bolerjack keep saying nice things about the Jazz and all the players when they are broadcasting.

Totally different.

This is the Jazz official twitter account so it comes across as the jazz announcing this, not just some employee.

I bet the Jazz will get there wrist slapped by the league (not publicly) they wouldnt obviously if Harpring or someone said something as innocuous as this.

From Jazz PR via DJ Jazzy Jodouchy:

Jazz released statement about "and inappropriate Tweet to the official Jazz account." Staffer lost login access, faces disciplinary action.

Easy fire. The official jazz account can't be used for opinions like this even if it is obvious and true.

It's easy to blame Dwill, and rightfully so, but why the **** would anyone want Joe Johnson for max money when you have a distributing PG? That is just asking to suck. They should have spent that money trying to get a PF to compliment Dwill.

This tweet was a cut at Deron Williams, and that forum wasn't the place to do that.

THIS forum is the place....

can't use the Jazz's account to express personal opinion.

While I hope the guy isn't fired I can't exactly feel bad for the guy. Was he expecting somehow a pay increase by doing this? What a stupid move.

to keep DWill away from Dallas

NJ had to make panic moves to appease DWILL (G wallace, j Johnson)

Not sure who that reflects worse upon, the nets or on Deron that he would actually be swayed by those short sighted moves.
