Great Article on G-Time

How effective would Hayward be in a James Harden/Paul George roll?

Hayward as the 1st option on a team?...interesting.

I do not see him that way. I think his tendancy to distribute is greater than a first scoring options normally is. Perhaps a 2nd option..

I am incredibly frustrated at how Ty has handled Gordon. I actually agree with him coming off the bench, but, he should play point forward/2 guard and the offense should flow through him. Maybe if Mo was playing he could play more of that roll. He ends up playing with Earl who dominates the ball and throws up crap shots. In the last game, Gordon curled to the top of the key, he was wide open and Earl doesn't pass the ball. Gordon shakes his head, and ran through his route. If your going to have him touch the ball once in a while, we might as well start him and have Foye come off the bench. Ty is very frustrating.

Earl has the vision of Ray Charles.

There are also many times Hayward is open for a dunk on a break and Earl doesn't even see him. This is where at least Tinsley has court vision.

You got the right one baby...

This is my single biggest frustration of the year. At the end of last year (exception of playoffs), Hayward played very well in an expanded role. I thought, FINALLY, he is going to get the minutes and expanded role he deserves. But here we are halfway through the season and once again we're back to where we were at the beginning of last season--Hayward stuck playing behind some talent inferior veteran journeyman. There is NO reason Hayward shouldn't be playing 30+ minutes a game routinely (actually closer to 35). If Corbin wants to play Foye more, then put Hayward in at small forward, I actually like the two of them in there together. Hayward should be taking more playing time from any combination of Foye, Marvin, and Demare to get to his 30+ minutes.

Corbin is driving me crazy. I'm growing to despise him.

Ok, so Ty's reason from one of his interviews I recalled was moving Hayward to the bench because

1) They need more offense on the bench and Watson sucks (Ty didn't say Watson sucks...but come on)
2) Get Hayward's confidence high by putting him up against crap players and roll off that confidence. Hayward tends to dissapear if his confidence is low.

Overall, it's not a terrible move and it makes sense to have Foye out there with Big Al because Foye is a spot-up shooter only whereas Gordon can facilitate as well as spot up.
So I guess what it comes down to is-
a) Do you want Gordon to be a starter and mostly produce as a spot up shooter?
b) Do you want Gordon to come off the bench and facilitate the offense with Favors?

EDIT- I am ticked off that he's not getting 30 minutes though but I'd rather him come off the bench.

Corbin has ruined this team. Kid yourself all you want, I know I have, but he has killed any chance of this team maxing out it's talent.

And now because we survived that rough patch, and came out decent he's not going anywhere. This team is ****ed.

Really? Where do you think the Jazz rank in terms of talent in the West? Better than 7th?

There is soo much negativity on this board. Why can't we just build each other up? Gay Vegan Communist, you're the coolest gay vegan communist I have met on the internet and probably third overall.

Great post, but given out too much rep. recently.

Thats the exact Manu model Spurs been applying for years. Duncan a great post player surrounded by sharp spot-up shooters and they want Manu to be facilator at less pysical stretchs of the game. And Gordon's playing style is very similar to Manu's.

It makes sense, i dont have problem either with him coming off the bench but Popovich was able to give Manu 30 min. at least, especially when he was younger and healthy and since Hayward not an injury prone, Corbin can do that on Gordon as well. He is getting good minutes right now though, 26.6 is not that bad but that got to do with Mo's injury. If Mo was healthy no doubt about that it would be around 23 mpg.

The difference is that Manu is much much much better than who he's competing with minutes for and that Gordon's not.
I don't think I have a big problem with Gordon's minutes as long as Gordon closes out the 4th quarters.

Now Favors and Kanter.....yeah I have a big problem with the minutes distribution there because Milsap has been sucking and Jefferson's been playing the entire 3rd quarter recently.
