Wow!! Bob Ryan just called Karl Malone the most overrated NBA player of all time!!

He just said this on Around the Horn...

Also said D12 was the most overrated player of in the NBA currently!!
 
He neva won a ring. He just accumulated stats, and was clutch in the regular season.
He averaged 20 a game until he was 39, just because he was so damn selfish he couldn't picture himself leaving Utah NOT as the leading scorer.

That's probably how Bob Ryan feels anyway. If he didn't have an Around the Horn job, you'd think this guy was a child molester, was a general manager at a Carl Jr. or he lived in his mothers basement and was a chronic masturbator.

Karl overrated... whatever. Guess that's why he's in the HoF.

D12, he may be correct.
 
The dude career averages are

25pts 10.1rbs 1.4stls 3.6ast and only missed more than two games in a season once in his 19 year career once and that was with the Lakers!!
 
Bob Ryan is simply a hater, I've watched enough Around The Horn to know that he is just an angry man, and a hater. He covers sports back east in Boston. He has the northeast bias. He probably never saw Karl play, just saw stats and his no rings. He also forgets to mention that if Karl stays healthy the Lakers probably win the title, and Malone was like what, 39, 40 years old? Yeah he sure is overrated.

I really only kind of like Karl because he was a Jazzman ....Not that he is kind of removed from my Jazz fan-ness I kind of hate him. "Through my eyes" blah blah blah, played hard but was a bitch and a diva no matter how much he tried to convince everyone he was just a good ol boy from the country.

So where would Malone rate on an all time list?
Would not put him in the top ten all time.
Might put him him in the top 20 all time.
Maybe 19 or 20.
He could certainly be in the top 30.
And please, Stockton should not be above him.
Stockton was great but not better than Malone.
 
According to Real GM. I think they had Malone at 14. Obviously not a scientific poll just what other fans think of his skills.
 
It's really pretty hard to overrate the 2nd leading scorer in NBA history. In what way does Bobby Boy think Karl is overrated and by what basis does he then say "most overrated NBA player of all time?" Or is this another case of where "hyperbole" becomes another name for trolling?

Is it top 50 or what? Does it include active players?
Karl at #14 seems reasonable though.
