Didn't Chad Ford say he's a tremendous defender? He obviously has the rebound and steal numbers, but his size could be a major advantage. Until I hear scouts etc. questioning his defensive ability at the next level, I say he's good.
Ford also recently said he thinks MCW will be a better shooter than what he's shown. His form really does look good, and the fact that he's way taller than any other PG will certainly help him to get his shot off with ease.
Not that I'm 100% sold on him or anything.
Yeah his size is a major advantage, it's his speed and quickness I'm worried about chasing down guys like Wall, Lawson, Parker, etc.

Yeah, idk. I wouldn't say he's slow or anything, but not as fast as those guys, obviously. I do think his size will help make up for whatever speed deficiency he has.
I haven't seen him played enough, have been following Burke more cos he's more within our range...
But does MCW have the potential to be a Rubio type point guard, but with a dunking ability?

I'm really not sure who I would compare him to. I've seen him play three or four times and he seems extremely unique. As far as stats go, he's similar to Rondo; not a ton of points, bad 3PT%, but gaudy assist and steal averages, tons of rebounds for a PG...a triple double threat every night. Not comparing him to Rondo, but the kind of stats he's putting up in college are Rondo esque. I honestly don't know who I'd compare him to, which in it of itself makes it difficult to project how good he can be at the NBA level. I'm very intrigued, though, and if I had to pick a PG from this draft right now, I'd pick him.

He got arrested stealing from a mall. It was just a big "misunderstanding." And he looks semi-thuggish, semi-ratarded. Just saying. Most very good players have a strong-good-looking feel to them. This guy looks like Jar Jar Binks.
Also, do we want a guy who dribbles like this?
I like MCW a lot. Yes he needs to improve his shooting but his form is good. I think his size has advantages and disadvantages because he will be able to post up shorter PGs and in some circumstances he may be able to guard smaller SGs. The Jazz need a pass first PG, we have plenty of guys who need their shots. Of course you want him to be able to keep other teams honest. I think MCW is more than capable of doing that.
I think Burke's size is also an issue. Is he going to be able to guard NBA players and will he be able to get his shot off against NBA players? Both guys have questions so I expect the Jazz to have a shot at one or both of them. I wouldn't want to decide between the two but if I had to right now I give the slight edge to MCW. Granted, I haven't seen either of them play enough to make a complete decision about who I will draft. I would be happy with either one.

Hear me out. Watching this team over the last couple of years has showed me a few things. One of those things is that the offense runs about 1,000,000 times better when Hayward is running it. Lately Hayward has displayed a very robust offensive games that helps his passing even more.
My point in all of this is that maybe we don't need a PG that needs the ball in his hands a lot. Maybe he doesn't need to be the best pass first PG in the draft. Instead I propose that the Jazz look for a PG that has a reliable outside shot but that can also play average or above average defense.

Also, to add to what I am saying, Hayward has also developed some great chemistry with our young big as we as with Burks (which I get this feeling that Burks will not be around for very much longer). Both of those guys have showed that they know when to roll or pop after setting a screen for Hayward. They also have been doing a better job of passing the ball out of the post when Hayward is in the game (I wish I could run a synergy report to see how often they pass out of the post and that pass is directed towards Hayward).
I hope that all makes sense. After thinking about all of this it seems like Bledsoe would be a good fit but the more I watch him the less I think that the Jazz should offer for him. He would be great defensively but he doesn't seem to really know how to run an offense.
