It just occurred to me why Big Al was so awful on D last night. Who do you think was coaching the other team -- his mentor, Kevin McHale. Not only did McHale teach Al how to score inside but I'm sure he knows all of Al's weakness on D. So he gave the green light to Harden and Linn to attack because he knew Al would never be able to handle it.
 
I'd say anyone who has a seen a scouting report on the Jazz should know to attack Al in the pick and roll.
 
I guess someone on The Lakers must have coached him as well being they ran the ball down his throat at least 12-15 times last Friday night.
 
When hasn't al sucked at defending the pick and roll???

Harden and Lin are top 10 players in the pick and roll in the entire league. They didn't do anything special last night. They merely just did their thing. Al sucks at defending the pick and roll. He did his thing too. Nothing incredible last night. Just basketball. One team using its strengths to exploit the weaknesses of the other team. Wwhhhhhooooaaaaa!!! Incredible concept I know. Maybe sometime our coaching staff will pick up on this rather than blindly throwing the ball to Black Hold every time down the court?

Any team who has seen the jazz play in the past 2 years should be running the pick and roll against us.

Basketball isn't rocket science folks.
 
The answer to OP's question is obviously that Al came home late again and the Mrs. Was none too happy.
 
I wouldn't say lin is a top 10 pick and roll player in the league, but i agree with everything else you said, thriller.

I would add that Lin was not respecting tinsley at all. He was literally guarding whoever was in the paint...that had to bother Al.
 
at any rate, the amount of times our players got beat down the court last night was a disgrace.

yeah al had a really bad night but so did all of our starters. and bench players. and coach. even bear had a shocker.
 
Big Al got abused last night because Corbin came into the locker room after everyone but Al left to their suite and Chloroformed him.

I really don't think you have to be his former coach to know Al Jefferson can't guard the pick n roll.

This;

plus the Rockets are a really fast transition team and despite their lack of taking care of the ball well, they can force you some amount of turnovers. The Jazz starting 5 is not a match for them in this matter, Corbin should play the youngsters more in the game, and the gap widening all the way down, it was inevitable, but he obviously was on the cramps after the early blow out. It's no surprise though, Corbin easily gets discouraged by small game mistakes, he immediately benches the youngs this year. But never lets vets go bla bla. Anyhow, Al's abusement park was not solely on him, or Kev being his ex mentor, it was inexperienced coaching, lack of the ability to gather team's confidence up, and of course, I forgot to say, Rockets team's amazing hot streak shooting including 3 pointers.

Listen guys, it's not BigAl's fault. Yes, he can't defend and he's fat and slow, but it's all on Corbin. He is the guy who doesn't know how to use the max out of his players.

BigAl can be useful sometimes for 30mins, sometimes for 20 and sometimes for 10mins a game. Corbin just doesn't adjust the game, he's just a bad coach.

I agree that Corbin should be sending a message to Big Gal but Big Gal should not be so fat and sloppy . Big Gal should at least put his hands up on defense and al least effort to stop the PnR.
